Three story WFP cleaning height advice?
« on: December 30, 2014, 05:56:16 pm »
Hi all.

Well, I found a WFP package, its got a 25ft pole but wondering will it be big enough for three story, ie ground 1st and 2nd.  I was told a 22ft one would be big enough but I dont think so.  I feel a 25ft might welel do the job for now as I start, could anyone confirm this is ok size? I suppose I will get 28 ft out of it holding it up. I see lots people say 25ft will reach but just wanted to make sure as I am new to the WFP role and really need somthing asap, a 30ft would be great but not offered with it, but if 2ft will achive the job then thats good for now. I could add section or buy a new pole in time and sell the pole.

Thanks for any advice on this. I hope the 25ft is big enough, i messaged them and waiting a reply but none as yet.

Scott

I am jus after an entry to the WFP market to really, so building slowly, the set up is fine, as said just the heigh issues?

A 25' pole should reach, assuming ground is level, the floors are the usual height. However if it's an online seller I'd be reluctant to buy second hand. What make of pole is it and why is he selling?

A 30' carbon pole would be ideal.

Hi,

Thanks, yeah i thought 25ft would be ok.  He is selling due to upgrading, I know the back pack trilly set up as was going to buy new but saw this.  The pole is better than the ones you get with it online, its a shop brought one and he does nto know the make as worn away label.  it looks the part, and has new levelers and on off switch and hoses on the pole.  Its what I was going to buy new but cheaper. Just in two minds now lol.

Cheers mate.

That looks like an acient pole mate, 25ft will defo reach normal houses at 3rd floor (some call it 2nd story) but yeah ground - normal upstairs and then next floor is easily reachable with a 25ft, I use a 25ft for all my 3rd floor houses with no probs, I would defo look at getting a better pole though mate, that one looks fairly beaten up, is it carbon? Or part carbon?

I really would consider a gardiner backpack and clx pole to get you started Mate, this System your looking at may well be pretty rubbish... I now your eager to get going, but it's such a hassle when your equipmet is below par, it'll cost you a lot keep repairing etc, I still think its best you learn the ropes a bit and get some money behind you first, then invest in a system

That is a 4 section Brodex pole, could be hybrid - theirs are blue, I think.  If each section is 6 foot long then with a six inch overlap at each clamp, the longest it could be is 21foot 6 inches, plus a bit for the gooseneck and brush.

Also ask yourself: "What's the point of a tap at the top of the pole?"  If your arms are long enough for you to operate that when the pole is extended. then you could trad the tops while standing on the ground!!

Be very cautious with this one :-\

Scott, ring up gardiner pole systems and ask them to give you the best price they can for a Gardiner backpack and 25clx pole, I assure you, you will be happier, the more I look at that pole the more I want to warn you to stay away! The gardiner website is being updated at the mo, but you can still ring them for advice,

This will get you going then you can work your way up to a full system, you can buy your pure water from someone locally and save on the reverse osmosis system. You can trad clean most things and then use the back pack or even a trolley system for higher stuff, also check the polarbrite website out for there trolley systems, they are very well
Made and a good price - £240 they may throw in a pole as well, give them a call mate.

Cheers guys, it does look a little beaten up.  Would you not consider this? I would rather go with experience hence I came here for some advice.

Its worth £150 with a kobold back pack trolley and ready to go.

Thank you everyone.

Hi Scott
As said , our standard issue pole is the clx 22 it does most things including domestic 3 story.

What you haven'tt thought of is that this old pole will be hassle to use. Loose clamps , sticking.

You will learn very fast that a nice clean pole with no problems is worth its weight in gold. Buy the one in the pic and you will be changing it very quick.

Ring Gardiner and polarbrite tomorrow for some quotes mate, polarbrite isn't far from you so you can pick up equipment from them easily enough, give them a call, Id be happy to go with you if you wanted as I live not far from them and know them well!

Cheers mate for the advice, I am glad I came here i tihnk if you lot dont like it your not going to put me off somthing thats ok for entry level and honest advice is good and I see from the site people look out ofr each other.

Also Ian is right why is the stop tap at top lol. I did wonder.

I think I can have £250 for a system ready to go, the pak and trolley to wheel it around and pole. would that get me much? I am struggling to find anything, been looking for days.

Appriciate the help...

I think you'll be able to get a trolley for £250 from polarbrite, then maybe get a 2nd hand pole on eBay that's a well known make like phoenix or Gardiner...

Don't forget a hydra alloy 25ft isn't 25ft long, Brodex measure their poles in reach length just another
way to con customers.
Wouldn't take that pole as a gift Scott.
