Berlingo 850 with a 500 litre tank...
« on: October 03, 2014, 12:12:18 pm »
500 litre tank, DI vessel, ro unit etc
Couple of gardiners poles + brushes
2 x hose reels
Bit of trad gear
2 x 75kg operatives

Overweight or legal? Thoughts?

What's the difference then between max payload and max axle weight and how can you judge what will be over the max axle weight? (Assuming this means how the load is spread)

basic it mean that you can still be under your gross weight but over on your axle weight if the load is not spread over right,ie to close to front end.

every vechile as a max gross weight and max axle weight

only way to test it is go on a axle weigh bridge  ;)where each axle gets weighed

vosa take a dim view on this

Thanks Frank.

It's not quite so easy to take it to a weigh bridge when it's a vehicle that has yet to be purchased and kitted out. :)

thats why i got my 500l upright tank fitted in the middle of the van floor longways.even distribution of weight plus plenty of room down the sides for other equipment.it also helps with stability.virtually no sloshing around even with half a tank full!well happy with it.

on topic i think youll be pushing it danny with a 850kg payload.

i reckon im just ok in my connect with a 900kg payload and me with a full tank.
price higher/work harder!

Wonder why nobody else fits their tanks longways?

Is it because apart from Grippamax most bolt to the chassis?

PS I reckon you'd be overweight.
