Unpleased Customer 15 hours unpaid
« on: September 18, 2014, 05:47:57 pm »
Nearly finished this job, but wish i never took it on.
She was a regular customer on the window cleaning, so had a few days spare to take this on.

Job was £220 for upvc clean with gutters vac out and conservatory roof clean.
Conservatory roof was 9 to 10 mtrs long, so from a ladder reaching the middle section was hard.

She offered some money, but i refused an offer if not the full amount.

Complaints was after all cleaning and washed with water based cleaning agents.
She was expecting me now to clean all with upvc cream cleaner (Like her neibour used)

All what was left was the conservatory gutters and above conservatory gutters to be vac.

When i said i will be back in an hour with the vac - these questions from her started.

She read a feedback from a customer on my facebook page, thanking me the my conservatory roof looks ne again - So she was wanting an old roof back to being new ( waste of 17 hours but a lesson learnt)

There does seem like a lot of dirt on their that should come off mate? Especially on the white vertical bars.

It still looks good though compared to what it was.

How much is she offering to pay?

These photos was took early, so no complete finished photos, Panels are not even cleaned on photos.
Once i knew she wanted me to use upvc cream, I was not happy to take my finished photos.
But i do get them up clean as my previous posts on here.
There was no grime left, maybe the middle may of been hit and miss due to the lenght, could not view the middle.
But panels was all cleaned but no complete after photos, not even clean the windows on con yet.

Mate I think that's a good job at a fair price,I think before you even started she was going knock you.
Go back when her husbands home, knock him out then burn it down, maybe that a bit excessive but that's what I would want to after 16 hours of graft.
I feel for you ,try not to let it get to too much if that's possible

Not even the slightest upset, I give more money and time to my Cancer Charity, But all will know about this house/person as i clean most of the area,
She did offer something but i never even glanced at the offer - i just took it as less charity donations this month / year.

But a positive was your a very good window cleaner (doing house for 5 years).

personally i would of told her that i wouldn't need to use the cream and for her to wait until the job was finished before she started questioning things, i certainly wouldn't of walked off after spending so long on it and taking it 'on the chin' so to speak

The job was nearly finished about half hour left gutter vacing the side gutters of conservatory, which i forgot an attachment, so letting her know i am just popping home to get it.
Then all this upvc cream came out.
After i did the upstairs she said its looking good ( the neibour started cleaning is ledges with cream ).
So i think she wants some cream.

But with us this going on, by complete finished photos are missing to show you.

i have one word "UPFRONT"

i would never in a million years do that unless the customer pays upfront,

i had a new customer today my rules are if its over £30 its upfront or walk ,i told her not to take it personally that its just procedure and that we will do our best but we decide whats satisfactory not you and i explained that unfortunately over the years we had a handful of cases similar to this story, (all were small values) but still i would never Gamble like you did mate learn from it i would give the old Court letter system a go, but next time someone wants a big job get paid first then work ,

you will maybe loose some but you will also gain some and the way i see it is it isn't worth the stress and loss of moral being ripped off for a £10 front is annoying but on a job like that id prolly loose it and i certainly don't want to so upfront or goodbye
