[H20cleaning]

1.9 nissan primastar 2003 92k

Wont start but sounds like it wants to... Then the battery eventually died.

Things to check?
Obviously fuel filter blockage (fingers crossed its that)
If it isnt what else could i try

Im not in a position to get rid.

And the red light hadn't even flashed so its not fuel, it read somewere that the majority of time when diesels wont start its starvation of fuel/air or something???

Mine sometimes does this (Vivaro 1.9).

Pop the bonnet and at the back left the fuel line passes through some kind of black elongated circular 'thing'. Give that a squeeze and it should pass the fuel through. This gets mine started next time always.

My mechanical knowledge is non existent so I don't know the names of parts or anything, sorry.

Glow plugs. Squirt some esay start into the air intake.

If it was glow plugs it was start after a few turns! and wouldn't be much a of a problem even if they weren't working in this warm weather.

I dont even think the engine will of called down by the time i tried starting the van again...

Nope its been driving sweet as a nut mate, went to newcastle and sunderland at the weekend and drove absoloutley fine

If it was glow plugs it was start after a few turns! and wouldn't be much a of a problem even if they weren't working in this warm weather.

My old scudo wouldn't. I could have flattened 10 batteries and it still wouldn't have started.

I ran my old car for 2 years without working glow plugs with no problems in summer wouldn't even no they wasn't working apart from winter but started every time just took 4/5 turns of the key.

So what was the problem in the end? Im gathering something to do with fuel

Does it run rough or cut out when your driving??

If it ain't what Deegee said (my mate had exactly same thing)
It might be your turbo lines doing the same thing.
Mine (2.5) used to do the same but was worse in winter.

Nope its never missed a beat and runs perfect but just wont start

No offence H20 but you are on here what seems like every other week with a van problem.
Take my advice as I am talking from experience.
The one you have is becoming a money pit and will be costing you not only in getting it fixed but more importantly it's affecting your work.
Do yourself a favour and buy a different and more reliable van.

I have just said im not in a position to replace the van... Its not even hit 100k miles yet its hardly on its last legs.
I have reciepts adding upto £1800 spent under 15k miles ago.
Its had loads done to it i would be a fool to get another one
