Just had call - she says "its a financial issue due to data protection give me your name and address"

so I google the number and just thought stuff you and replied" what do you want and whats its about"

her "due to data protection I cant tell you until you give me your details"

Me " I dont know you, due to data protection I am not giving my details to you unless you tell me what its about"

her " I cant you need to give me your details"
me " due to data protection I cant"
Her " well I will have to cancel this call then goodbye"

ME "ok bye"

well that was a waste of my time..... hate companies who hide behind the data protection act and just expect YOU to just accept that its you who MUST give your details to anyone who calls.

For those who say it might be important - I know who it was and its not actual an important call in my eyes.

What came up on Google about the phone number that called you?
I had a phone call like this a few months ago, I refused to give details and was told "Well if you don't give me the details I cannot proceed."
I told him I was not going to confirm or deny any details to a voice on the end of the phone.
And ended the call.

When I googled the phone number it was a company that carry out surveys or some other rubbish.

I've had the same sort of phone call recently and ended with the caller going in a strop and spitting the dummy out. Id have told them to feck off but didn't want my tv cancelled or something. Don't think i ever found out who it was but its crazy that you are expected to confirm your details to any old voice

yeh but i did want to wind them up,  if i p them off enough they wont call back.  i put a porn movie on last time and put the phone close to the speaker to see what they would say... lol they just kept on talking
