£450 that's everything except the ceiling of van, completely covered.
Mine was done by varitech systems at Newton Abbott.
I would highly recommend linex to everyone, its worth the money.

Yes, its the third time they are having to sort it out.

Not even a simple SORRY.  How disappointing.

I have emailed them back in regards to this and they are a user of this forum also.

So come on guys help the supplier out, tell them how they should be dealing with this issue as I think they need some help as customer satisfaction is not their strong point even though the company boasts that the customer comes first.

At a loss to describe how I feel about it to be honest.

3rd is ridiculous.
You shouldn't have paid any money over until you were happy with the job.
Seems strange that you're not naming them though.
Why would you not?

Its a waterproofing issue, which has taken time to come to my attention. The van sprayed with linex and through poor installation it has started rotting the ply lining which is supposed to be 100% waterproof, well that's how they sold it to me " we will make it 100% waterproof guaranteed".

So hopefully it hasn't damaged the floor of van underneath.

I paid in full before it was done.

I think you'll be ok-van floor wise.
The only thing I've ever known the properly be 100% waterproof is fibreglass.

I think you should name and shame whatever company it is as it will stop people being stung in the future

Well that's a nice idea, but we have to be very careful here.

Remeber there are 2 sides to every story.  Not for one moment would I suggest that Richard isn't telling the truth, I'm sure he is, but the point is, we just don't know do we?

I myself have had a few IDIOT customers who've been completely unreasonable and then went on as if I were entirely to blame.  One said I scratched her patio glass with waterfed pole and made a huge fuss.

If she were to have gone on a local forum, her topic would have been something like "PETE THOMPSON WINDOW CLEANER SCRATCHED MY GLASS AND THEN REFUSED TO PAY- AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!  IT COST ME £3,000!!"

When actually it was not my fault at all, and I pointed out the particular scratch when I was quoting the house, before I had even touched the windows, over a year before.

But the point is, a forum user would not know that, would they?  All they would know was that I had supposedly behaved outrageously and should be hunted down by a mob!

And before someone says "you could go onto that forum and defend your actions", my answer is why should I have to?  Just because some nutter wants to rant and moan?  Do I have to be dragged onto a forum to defend my reputation at the whim of idiots?  And even if I did, people reading it won't know whose story is the truth.

I have every sympathy for the poor guy here, but 'naming and shaming' is a two-edged sword in my view.

Having said all that, I am dying to know what company it was.

Does the company begin with Vari and end in Tech? Just a wild guess.

8 weekly ur a dick.

Why?

He has quoted a post from FEB so it highlights the company who fitted it. Varitech.

Can't you just go in your other van or something?

I guess having no income makes you angry. If you are now annoyed with a company you were previously recommending to all and sundry who is the dick?  ;)

I recommended the linex coating not the offending company.  Angry I dont get angry to be honest with you, people misunderstand frustration for anger.
Income who said no income, I said a days lost earnings not no income. I was asking people what they would do not start a witch hunt, if you feel your so clever that you have to try and be smart  then dont bother.

Dealing with companies and people I dont find difficult and they are obviously rectifying the problem so the matter is in hand, the question every eight weeks is  " what would you expect the company to do for you?"  a simple straight forward answer will suffice.

To be honest i was just looking for them to say sorry, money isnt an issue, they dont have any equipment Iwant so a simple apology thats all I wanted.

In all honesty, I wouldn't expect them to compensate you for loss of earnings. However, poor customer service is out of order & it sounds like they could have handled it much better than they have done. An apology & sympathetic attitude to the situation would have probably made all the difference!!

For what it's worth, if I had a bad experience with customer service I wouldn't hesitate to come on here & spew it all over a public forum!

was it you mate who bought the primastar a few months ago with 114,000 miles on the clock?bad luck that pal.is it gonna cost over a grand to fix plus a weeks money lost? ::)roll
Yeah had it 4 months now Daz...been brilliant up till now was driving home last Friday and engine cut out and that was that I know its gonna be expensive but hey thats life sometimes :(

On the balance of probabilities, what do you reckon is the chances of all four of your injectors failing at the same time ?

just read through this thread Richard, you sound like you've had a rough time of it. But I did notice you refused to name and shame the company? Your last post must mean they've pushed you too far?

Very much so. If you saw the state my van came back in you would be appalled. If the phone doesn't ring by 8am Monday morning varitech will have me on the doorstep, I'm 20 minutes drive from them. They need to get some man juice and face up to their failure to provide me with a professionally installed system which as we speak is emptying its contents into my van.  It looks like I'm a mobile hot tub. More water in the van than in the so called professional system which I paid them nearly £2300 which didn't include the cost of the heatwave heater.  On top of it my rear doors don't open and close as they did before Fridays attempt at sorting out the problem and the list goes on. This is all on top of more days lost revenue through the incompetence of varitech systems newton Abbott.
I have no faith in them as a company now, as it has taken 3 times to try and sort out the problems and still problems.

Maybe it's time to think about taking some legal advice. I don't suppose you have family legal cover on your home insurance?

It's only one injector failed but my garage recommended all 4 to be changed which makes sense as the other 3 won't be far behind failing which will mean more time off the road and more labour costs.
