Hydrolic Hose In / Out
« on: May 20, 2014, 08:53:27 pm »
I'm getting fed up with a bad back caused by constantly lifting the hose reel in and out of the van all day. Surely there must be a system where the hose reel is hydrolically lifted in and out of the van at the flick of a switch  ;D

Why don't you have it bolted to the floor of your van?

Thanks for all the replies. Personally I prefer the ambulance haha! I haven't bolted it to the floor of the van for 2 reasons:
1. I have the ports on the outside of my van so I can lock it - if the hose reel is bolted to the inside of the van I'd have to leave the back of the van open - security issue
2. I also clean carpets so I use the van floor space for that equipment too.

why its a work tool not a show van ? we cut holes in them all , even the brand new ones who cares ? when there 5 years old with 100k on the clock there worthless a hole wont add a grand on the price when its time with us is over

She makes a good point.
It is daunting cutting holes though.
I didn't.
I found the grommets in the c pillar and poked hoses and wires through there.

we don't even unclip the pole any more just when we start and when we finsh , we find cutting a hole in the side of the van gives us the time to do at least one job aday more so say its a ten pound a job

£10 x 5days = 50 pounds aweek
£50 x 40 weeks =2000 pounds  ayear
2000 pounds x 5 years = 10k

half the price of a brand new van !!! so if they want 100 pounds off the price second hand because of a hole or two then so be it ill be 9900 pounds better off  ;D
