You gotta go where the work is, I don't mind the travelling as ill drive there and my son drives back. Yes one job a big care home as we do over 15 for this company you go to where they are being built and money all adds up. Pays the wages bills and mortgage. Yes I go through fuel but I'm earning the money to pay for it.

Daz my ole son we start at 4.30am finish by around 12 / 1 o'clock. Hate getting up early but once I'm up and were out we miss the traffic and come home and miss the traffic so works for me as we have keys to get in offices and care homes the old folks are up early. 👍

not having a pop danny.we all run our businesses differently.fair play.i bet you do well.as long as we earn our money!

best wishes

1st cleans you have a higher chance of a call back.

I think if your a sole trader keep it local.
If you have 2 or more vans on the road then you would need to extend your cleaning circle to cover the extra work you would need.

My point is if your a sole trader dont waste your day driving around keep it compact as possible.
Canvass where you live and gain more work there.
Its there you just gotta find it.
Regards
I think this is the point but with two further, if you are working alone you should stay local - IF you have enough work and intend to stay alone for the foreseeable. That said, it is easier to stay local if you live in a city than it is if you live in a small town.

In the interests of balance, all (bar one or 2 days a month) of my work is over half an hour away. Nothing further than 1.5 hours anymore though.
I like being away. I'm on my own. And it's through choice I'm away. The areas I work are more affluent than the area I live so I make more money.

i personally wont go out of the 4 towns that we work in ,not for any money.

i tell you for why, you go just the one time and a neighbour will see you , next thing you know youve got 2 out there ,then 4 .     then you have to start advertising to get a days worth at a place where only fools go

    see where im going.

I have a day's worth of work a month 25 miles away.

I first went there 2 and a half years ago, through a family member of a local customer. She got me a few of her neighbours when I went there the first time. Most quickly became messers, and I was very close to dropping the whole area, but I persisted with the good ones and have since picked up enough good, reliable customers in the same estate to make it one of my best areas now.

I also do a large holiday home (ex-convent) 55 miles away. I normally do this once a year. I did it a couple of weeks ago, and have been asked to do an extra clean next month before the holiday season gets going in earnest. It's a good earner, and I get well fed and watered to boot!
