nah i rang them yesterday nd spoke with secretary, they were to return call but nothing yet

  5ft x 2” diameter poles each weighing approx 825 grams

which is less than bag of sugar , il be doing 2 storey houses....four poles = four bags of sugar...........

is this really that heavy lads? id say i clean out 20/30 gutters per year

The problem here is it's not just 3kg dry weight your lifting as soon as you angle the pole it multiplies the weight and doing gutters over connies, porch or lower level roofing proves differcult a task.. I've been there had the t shirt and trying to stop you making the same mistake..

ok avo i get ya they do seem bit burly in fairness.......

only thing with the gutter systems is it all comes together nd with me being over in dublin that makes life bit easier.....but thanks for all advice i think carbon fibre poles will have to be way to go

Richard thanks for reply mate! Need to deal with this quickly as got a few gutter cleans booked in and more to come!

Think carbon is way forward as I can appreciate as AVO said doing over connies etc will b hard using alloy poles!

ha ha you will love carbons and you bought at the right time of year too  
Keep a bucket of water handy to suck the water up if sludgy gutters as this can:
Effect suction performance and Increase weight of pole and also keeps your kit clean n tidy.

I just read this tread and I thought I give you guys a bit of advice, have bought some gutter poles from Sky vac, and couple time they got broke, and told them about it.
They send me a replacement but then I thought it shouldn’t break that soon, specially if I had them only couple of months, so I am thinking if they are 100% genuine Carbone fibre or not, so if it happens to any of you guys, watch out, it could be a mixture of all kinds of things,  Genuine Carbone is very strong and shouldn’t break very easy.

hi hasti, welcome to the forum.. May I asked how did you break them?? I'm sure there not 100% pure carbon but I've dropped I'm a number of times without damage.. Grippa look 100% but each section was to long.

Has anyone used the plastic poles from Polar Brite?   Probably not very durable but cheap to start off with at £50 for 16 foot.

Thanks Avo, well as usual was sucking a large growth from a gutter, as you do which had roots on and as I lifted the pole, the pole cracked from middle, which shouldn’t happen with carbon fiber.

Yea must of been fractured.. I did a massive job in the spring lots of heavy debris and 2 sections got jammed together had to call my mate to help unlock it but never cracked one yet..
