richard its not just £200 though is it?you have to upgrade your hoses and connectors and certain reels plus the cost of gas or diesel and the extra faffing about.

for me i cant seem to bring myself to buy a hot system although the immersion heater element sounds appealing for winter use.id have to get a plumber in to do it for me though as id probably make a mess of my tank! :)

i have no problems using cold all year round.its cheaper and less faffing around.the only thing i dont like is the stiffer hoses on very cold days!! ;D ;D
Mr Dazmond, after i read your post, i know you are going to get a hot water system soon! why? you said in the past that you don't see the point the have a van mounted system, no need to have an extreme poles, what do you have now?  ;) ;D i love your posts Daz,tell us when you get your hot water systems....  ;) ;D ;D

No never had any problems. Buy good equipment and you will have no trouble.
I do know of a window cleaner who not only popped one window but two on the same house in quite mild conditions.
He must of been abit daft if he cracked one window then thought ahh well nevermind i will carry on anyway... :(

Thanks for input so far guys.

There are loads of side issues that get thrown up on the subject too, all interesting.

Must admit I am concerned about the venting issue with gas.  I don't want to be leaving van doors open when working as someone could easily nick something of value like my packed lunch, most important bit of kit I carry.

for the sake of a couple of hundred quid its got to be worth having ?
imagine conservatory roofs and facias how quickly you could blast off algae and water marks with hot water?
£200 and its there for years no matter how much you use it or not, and I wouldn't bother upgrading my hoses or connectors either tbh what's the worst that will happen? you have small leaks ? or abit of hot water might run down you sleeve(wich I would quite enjoy and have to stop myself stripping off and showering in some cold winter months) :o

Ive got 2 fogwashes, 1 on each back door, but i have hardly used them tbh. I tried them on a couple of 1st cleans, but i DONT know if it was worth all the f about! (i could be wrong???) Got them incase of a bad winter a couple of years ago 4 freezing pipes etc. However i find my propex 2000 heater a far more essential tool for keeping everything warm on the van through the night, 4 on road parking, if u dont have a electric point.

I was of the view....cold cleans just as good as hot for many years unto last winter....I can honest say I have really missed out....first cleans its a dream, the cleaning power of HOT pure water is a very big plus, when we have the cold weather just knowing you have hot water in the van is a plus and having supple pole/reel hoses makes life so much easyer....for me its 100% no brainer...get a hot water system

this is the one I got and total love it  :)

I personally don't have a hot water system but do want one.
Some of the lads on here say it doesn't clean better ??? but that's like saying cleaning the dishes with cold water will be the same as hot? surely its far easier with hot water !!!!!

In short no mate, you do have to be aware of what you are doing now that you have a gas in the van, I have been using the hot water in the summer for first cleans which I had to turn the temp down, and in the winter if very cold then you dont have it very hot, I total love my hot water and only cost £5 or £10 a week to run  :) this is my system http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52QsSAWz0Rc

washing dishes and washing windows not a great comparison really is it.

on my 4 weekly maintenance cleans hot would make no difference
where you only have to do the bare minimum to clean...i imagine
really filthy first cleans, conservatories etc especially in the summer whendirt can be hard baked onit would be advantageous

but in the winter apart from supple hoses and warm hands i dont see
an advantage cold water freezes as quick as cold and f its hitting the
ground and freezing virtually on contact i gve up..salting wouldnt be
option before anyone mentions it lots of my customers have fancy drives
and would have a fit if i was dumping salt everywhere.

saying all that i am thinking about installing a immersion heater
into a tank in the spring as im really going to start pushing con
and fascia cleans in the new year and  can see the advantages with
this type of cleaning.

if someone could make a easily transportable hot system hat plugs
into a custies outside tap..i would be grateful :)

has anyone gone for the diesel run heater?  seems very expensive up against the L5 but safer?

Couldn't agree more. I don't use hot water but cant see it improving the cleaning power of cold on nearly clean maintenance clean windows.

Having a diesel Hot box fitter Monday, yes they are not cheap, but don't want the hassle of a gas bottle in the back of the van

It was an example.. Think about it? Anything you clean is going to clean better with hot water!
You know better as you have a hot system it just doesnt sound right to me :-\
