CLX 22 or SLX 22?
« on: July 02, 2013, 08:45:10 pm »
I'm finally going to put aside my much loved Harris and find out if Gardiner's are as good as everyone says. ;D
The dilemma is CLX 22 or SLX?
I know the SLX is more rigid and a bit lighter but is it worth £100 more than the CLX?
Any advice would be much appreciated ;D ;D

I've been using a CLX22 for the last 18 months / 2 years... It's been great.

I ordered a SLX25 the other day which should arrive end of this week... I hope it's worth the extra £££

Andy ;)

None of the above, go the whole hog and get an extreme ;)

If your main pole has been a Harris then a CLX18 would do to
replace it.
I have been using the ClX18 for the last 2 weeks which replaced my Gxtel 17.
Use it for 90% of my work and its better than everyone says.
Going to get a CLX27 for the few jobs that the 18 wont reach.

A clx 18 would do all my work but the extra length might come in handy.
Besides I reckon the 22 is better value as you get a free brush and gooseneck that you don't get with an 18

slx-22 is the corgies conkers. I have 4 poles, and the slx-22 gets the most use. A very good bit of kit.
if it is dirty it is fair game

Did you get a good deal?

CLX-22 is brilliant - I expect that the SLX-22 is lighter and more rigid but don't know if it's worth paying the extra in view of the relative shortness - either is probably brilliant - I've not had anything from Alex Gardiner that isn't....

if you can afford it, why drive a fiesta when you could be driving a Focus RS?  ;)
then again, why drive a Focus RS when you could have an extreme 25? 8) 8) 8)

No I'm part time although I may take it full time in the next year or so depending how canvassing goes.

The rigidity and lightness  of the SLX will make a world of difference when using at height ,

A CLX 27 will be whippy at height and have far more flex go the extra and get a SLX with a New Xtreme brush its worth the extra spend . Mike

If I needed to go higher I would get a slx.
However my Harris reaches everything at the moment so even getting a 22 foot pole is more than I need.

No, it will not earn you anymore money at the end of the day.
A clx 22 will be more than adequate for your needs and still light, if you want it to feel more rigid then don't open up each section fully unless you need the full height.
I have a clx 27 that I used for pretty much everything for 3+ years with no issues.
