I have started to get more of my customers to pay via Internet banking.i have a business account and just give them the account number and sort code,I then ask them to use their address as a reference.
Most like this method it's very easy.

I'm currently in the process of moving all slow payers over to direct debit >> www.iconicwindowcleaning.co.uk/directdebit

I'm also explaining to all new customers that I only commence cleaning once a direct debit has been setup... Seems to be working so far.

You can't really do DD as it means the seller (i.e. you) request the fee on a certain day. The bank charges heavily for this. Plus you have the authority to change the amount after giving warning.

I find Standing Orders are better. The customer sets it up and controls it. You simply check the cleans off with payments.

Some just do Bank Transfers after each clean.

Paypal on my website works best for me when it comes to residential payments.

Round here, no one will sign for a standing order,.. its simply not done unless its to a utility provider, but no way would anyone trust a tradesman to turn up on time every month (I do live in Ireland & can understand this attitude!).

Some of my commercials pay by Bacs,..

That's a lot cheaper than I have seen in the past.
