I've been wearing these cheap walking boots for work for a couple of years now. First pair lasted nearly 18 months which is good value imo. On my second pair now. Comfy, warm and dry.
With leather ones, don't forget to rub good outdoor shop polish in to keep the leather waterproof.
Had a similar Pair after working in a heavy rain one morning my feet were soaked and my feet were squelching . Mike

I've found that when buying boots, not to have them too grippy as the pole hose keeps catching on them rather than sliding across them. IT DOES MY HEAD IN!
I've worn the north face vindicators for a few years, which were great, but replaced them with some other north face ones after they wore out. Don't know the name and, that's the biggest difference I've found. I'd definitely check sole grippiness before I next buy.

I wear merrells , not boots , more of a hill walking trainer
But there light, comfortable , waterproof , and look good too :)
Think the ones I get are called "intercept" or similar
