Top tip: don't bother disconnecting your rectus - last for years then.

I've found that as well. I took the o ring of the pole hose and when I change poles just push fit the hose onto the fitting.
It's lasted well over a year.
You have to trim a bit off the pole hose every few months though. But is a small price to pay.
They normally lasted me between a week and 3 months,

The aquadapter fitting is all well and good but how do you connect microbore hose to pole hose  ??? ??? .

Surely you need to 2 types of fitting if so dont see the point . But the Aquadapter fitting looks very good but no good if you are used to using a tap .

otherwise you will be constantly disconnecting thus wearing the fitting out in a matter of days surely . Mike

Hi Mike,

The aquadapter fitting is all well and good but how do you connect microbore hose to pole hose  ??? ??? .
2 or 3 options...

Some customers with 8mm ID minibore have found that they get a good seal just by squashing it down onto the barb with O Clips. This is the easiest.

Either using some PTFE tape or a sheath of pole hose on the barb before it goes into the minibore is another option.

Finally, we have 6mm to 8mm barb joiners (http://www.aqua-dapter.co.uk/hose-fittings/inline-minibore-to-microbore-straight-reducer-joiner-8mm-to-6mm/), so with one of these you can have a short piece of pole hose from the connector and fit with jubilee or O Clips (Quick Connect > couple of inches of pole hose > 6mm to 8mm barb > O Clip > Minibore)

Surely you need to 2 types of fitting if so dont see the point . But the Aquadapter fitting looks very good but no good if you are used to using a tap .

otherwise you will be constantly disconnecting thus wearing the fitting out in a matter of days surely . Mike
We've found they last really well, I think Dave has posted above that his have lasted almost a year already. Esp if you protect them with protecta balls or similar. Unlike Rectus fittings (which we also supply) there's no need to change the male and female at the same time, so they can also be cheaper to replace.

Thanks for that Paul ,  But i currently use an inline tap so in order to do away with tap and just use the new fitting you have would mean disconnecting over 30 times a day . Mike

Yes, we do Rectus 26 as well, and some customers love them, as they're very robust.   The downside is they're bigger and heavier, so these new ones seem to be almost or just as robust but are smaller and lighter and male/female can be swapped at different times if necessary.

Mike, do you have the tap in between the minibore and microbore/pole hose?  Is that your only method of water control?

Mike I use an inline tap in a holster with two 6mm ID tails one with a male fitting to connect to hose, the other tail has a female fitting which I connect to which ever pole I'm using.
So I connect and disconnect at each job - no problems so far  - no drips and no wet left leg

I bought a set of practice golf ball on fleabay which are the same as protecta balls  (6 for a £1) - And drilled my own holes.   On the microbore hose end I used a rubber dog ball

Yes it is Paul i much prefer inline Tap unfortunately i wont consider an aquadapter due to the extra weight on the end of the pole . If i found i could work with one ok then i would seriously consider using one . Mike

Hi Mike,

Although the latest eXtra Light Aqua-dapter is hardly noticeable and I would obviously recommend one for the benefits it gives, I wasn't actually thinking about that when posting the above.

(We have a 28 day money back satisfaction guarantee on the new latest models, if you consider giving one a try sometime.)

I was thinking of a solution like Dave@Silverleaf posted; working back toward the pump: Pole Hose > tap > Pole Hose (longer length than I suggested above) > Male Quick Connect > Female Quick Connect > Minibore.

M M window cleaning, give aqua dapter a go, it is a quality piece of kit, and regarding the weight , I find it bizarre people complain about a few grammes
