Alex, I thought that glue was supplied with the upgrade kits?

The DIY upgrade kits come complete with the following:

The number of clamps needed (complete wit lever sets)
Twin pack glue sachet 10ml - enough for 10+ clamps
Alcohol wipe
Link to the video fitting guide
Ok, that's what I thought, got 3 sets delivered today, but no glue or wipes in package.

Could you email me please with your order number and I will get the Office to sort this for you - Apologies - sounds like more haste less speed for the packing team  :(
Thanks Alex, will do, could you put up link for your email address please, I tried emailing through the website on another matter the other day and it wouldn't work for some reason :-[

Sorry to gatecrash Alex, I need some John Guest tubing from your website and I notice it comes in 1/4" or 3/8". I have some clear tubing currently that is 12mm along with my  JG push fittings, can I get the 12mm tubing from you?

We do not do John Guest tubing in 12mm. We only do the following:

1/4"
3/8"
1/2"
6mm PU
8mm PU

Try this supplier - http://www.coolproducts.org.uk/john-guest-12mm-od-lldpe-tubing-in-blue-by-the-metre-315-p.asp

Upgraded my clamps on clx18 yesterday. What a difference. Now the clamps securely hug the pole when closed but don't catch at any point when open. All because of a little spring I have concluded.

Just done my slx30. Is it just me or does that glue set fast?

I have noticed with mine that one of the new clamps nearly joins at the gap that the screw tightens, if that makes sense. So it may not have much life in it without taking about 6 inches off the pole and putting on a new clamp. If that gap is narrowing as I think it is, the new clamps may not offer quite the benefits I had hoped. Still a huge leap forward mind you.

Hey all,
Got my new clamps today and I have to say I am so impressed. They managed to give my 4yr old SLX25 with badly worn and constantly spinning sections a new lease of life-it's a miracle! Fitting was very easy, although it's advisable to watch the Gardiner's video very carefully first, and follow the instructions closely. One point to consider- I was reluctant to cut my old clamps as per the video in case the new clamps didn't work out, so I tried something different. Instead of cutting, I tapped each clamp off the end of each section, using a blunt, wide screwdriver and a hammer. They popped off quite easily after a few taps, with no damage to either the clamps or the pole sections, and could easily be re-fitted if required. I'll keep them for a few weeks just in case, but I can't imagine ever having to use them again. Anyway, if you're having problems with your pole sections slipping  or spinning, the new clamp sets will solve that problem very effectively.

I thought it was was the offset barrel nut that made all the difference. The glue does set pretty quick. I managed to do both my six 25s with one pack of glue. Glad I watched Alex's video first. Don't think it would have been quite as successful otherwise
