100m+ wireless analogue controllers
« on: March 24, 2013, 08:09:08 pm »
Just in the process of producing a wireless analogue controller the results are good so far, managed to get upto a distance of 122m From the van, line of site.
Plus works from inside the house to the van from about 50m

See image below, it shows on the map where I was standing when testing the controller.

Looking at a selling price £54.99 + p&p

What are people's thoughts about this?

Cheers

Had one form a year and a half years you get unit of e bay. Have a roof mount bee sting antenna. which helps with reception. I used to use my one on my backpack.I have a 3 channel one works at reduced speed and two at full speed on the pump.and on and off.

What did it cost you if you don't mind me asking?

The ones I have at the minute have the antenna on the box, but looking at supplying an external antenna to use with system.

I was chatting to Rc a little while back regarding buying more wfp equipment for a second van which I am going to set up shortly and he mentioned the wireless controller he was making . I received this yesterday and wired it up today sorry for the poor video as you know not the best weather today, i really don't know if it is any good but he seems more than confident  so I am going to give it a good test for the next week or so .

Add a digital volt metre to that as it makes sense to check the battery. E bay. A far a s cost goes its some time ago and cost ne 23 quit.

adding a volt metre will only put costs up on this really, its not worth the hassle of it,

£23 for a wireless controller? if only!

I have been reading this thread and wondering how this is better than a normal pump controller that controls the flow and presure shut off?

i wouldnt say it was better than any other on the market,

it dose the same job as the others but at a fraction of the cost, loads of people have problems with the digital ones, you get an airlock and they shut the system down, this carrys on and can pump  it out,
my controllers are rated at 15amps and fused down to 10amps, the digital ones are mainly 7.5amps. so theres extra protection there is anything should happen,
plus this has a wireless switch that can turn it on and off,
the cost of this is still less than the the just buying a digital one!

Please excuse my ignorance but I don't get why you would use these?
I use a waterstop on the end of my hose-plug the pole hose in-water comes out.
Disconnect it and the water stops.
Genuine question...

Hey Darren,

its not everyones cup of tea, its just another way to stop the water really, like a tap, aqua-daptor, rectus fittings, kinking the pipe etc.

things that it could do is save bending down  to disconnect the pipes from front to back of house, in between windows that are a little distance apart etc.

another ideal thing that it can be used for is to reseting a hot water system instantly without waiting for the pressure to build up in the pipe!
