What is amusing about that Gardiner video and totally unrelated to the thread is the sound of sea guls!! Us land locked boys havent never heard that whilst working!! Does it get annoying?!

Keep the tap on your belt but extend the hose on the coupling side by 12" to 18"
When it is now coupled should it leek it aint on your leg.
Trust that makes sense.

Try the pro range of connectors rectus 26 I think, works ok for me.

DG, I'd been thinking about mounting the tap on the pole. Does this method work well?

I find the Gardiner taps do leak, (both of mine leaked) but not if you use the additional John Guest fittings they also sell. They cost pence and are well worth it. I have cable tied the tap to the end of pole (bottom end) and for me, this is the easiest and most hassle free method.

Alex & Nic, I don't really like to hole the loose pole. Don't know why, it just irritates me having to hold it with the pole in my hand.

Oh, sorry Gav! I thought you were taking the mic when you said move it to the brush head. How does this method work for you and can you shut the water off instantly?

either move it or buy as a seperate item
then fit it at the brush head
turn water on extend pole
clean lower then turn off

i have the gardiner push fit taps on all my 3 poles fitted on aqua-daptor pole hose.its a nice tight fit with no leaks.i also nip the hose sometimes in between windows and cleaning ground floor work.

no wet legs(i wear waterproof pants anyway).

poles are nice and light and not "top heavy" as when using an aqua-daptor.

I think i'd get through far too much water operating like that Gav. Not being able to shut the flow off until i've lowered the pole. Fair play if it works for you though.

Not interested in trying the Aqua-dapters as i dont like the thought of the extra weight on the pole.

Although the leaks are annoying me, when i'm staying dry I don't think there's a faster way of operating the pole and controlling the water flow so quickly. Just need to find alternative connectors I think.
