£150 for a man on his own sounds more like it!

Ours charges about £300, but there's Ltd Co returns to do, Corporations tax, then we're both employees of our company so there's our tax and NI and employers NI and he prepares our monthly payslips and at the end of the year our Self Assessments.

Worth his weight in gold - he might not 'save' us much actual cash, but in time and effort he saves us many weeks, plus relieves us of the worry of doing it all.

i pay £450 plus vat and im a sole trader.  and thats even when i put my earnings and losses into excel myself.  it seems most of my money is justified by my accountant giving an hour long speech about the future of my company (all of which is complete waffle).  think i may have to shop around.  Plus the added bonus of switching accountants is hopefully i'l get the window cleaning contract at their office

RIng a couple of local accountants and have a chat, we spoke to the one who did our payroll and she gave us an idea of price, a lot of it depended how we kept the accounts at our end, ie turnover, expenses, etc etc
We keep all the information on a comprehensive excel spreadsheet so she said would be simple hence cheaper than if we just gave her a load of numbers she had to work out.

Oooooo that is shiny!!
