Al those who said worth every penny can you give us a break down on things they have saved you money on ? its just my accountant only puts down your normal expenses and basically told he will do the same as I do just more professionally so what are these super accounts doing to save you money ?

i think there is a difference between an accountant and a chartered accountant

A lot of Mortgage lenders these days prefer to see annual accounts that have been prepared by a chartered accountant.

I reckon they will be perfectly happy with copies of tax returns.

If you find the idea of filling in a tax return daunting then pay an accountant, but don't expect to save much money on your tax. It is highly unlikely that they will save you anything like what they cost.

But if you charge your time at £30 per hour (for working it out, submitting it etc) then how much does he save you?

£15. That is all it takes. I have the figures prepared as I would if I were to give them to an accountant.
