I think many would really struggle.
Each year I have 2-3 month dry. My personal view is that if a person can't go a month or 2 without alcohol they are alcohol dependant.
I think the people that should try a month without booze are the people that won't join in.
But Stu, I see a red flag with your drinking. I think, that if you have to make a wilful effort to go 2-3 months 'dry', that 'wilful effort' shows a certain amount of obsession around your use of alcohol; and that could indicate a problem. I mean Wor Lass doesn't make any wilful effort to go 2 or 3 months without booze, but she usually does. Booze is like fish to her, she can take it or leave it - she doesn't have to say, "Right, I will go for two months without eating fish", because to her, fish (like alcohol) is no big deal.
Have you got a problem with alcohol, Stu?
(I'm just pulling yer leg, matey).
