Ethecol- terminal payment
« on: December 18, 2012, 06:35:59 pm »
Evening all

Any one used this company?

I've been offered there service though a broker I use

£7.50 per week to rent mobile  terminal
No set up fee
And a small percentage of transactions
( not sure what the percentage is yet)
A percentage of there fee goes to good causes

Any one use them?

Sound ok to depending on percentage

Many thanks

Colin

If you own the machine, is it guaranteed so you get a replacement ASAP if it breaks or goes wrong?

Only 3 years, then you have to buy new one if anything happens after that?

lol...well same with most things really.....buy a car with 3 yrs warranty, when thats up you pay. id prefer that tho.

Rent the other at 7.50 a week x 52 =£390 x 3yrs = £1170.

My terminal cost £299 + 3 yr warranty, saved myself £871, no brainer really!

only problem with this is its alot of hassle for visa payments through the customers phone and all that garbage.

you want a chip and pin service which u hand to the customer thats linked to your phone via bluetooth .. would be the better option and more professional looking too.

no the way I see it is it plugs into your own phone and the customer sticks the card in, I would spend £20 just to see the skint ones flap when you say no problem no cash you pay everything by card blah blah, here is a card reader just go get your card ;D and then listen to the new excuses for not paying, card is knackered etc ;D

Not for visa it doesnt! with visa you send a text to your customers phone number then they go online and pay the amount, which to me looks  a bit unprofessional and if they don't have a smart phone well they cant pay  ??? apart from that the others i think is just swipe and pay its simply because its not a chip and pin service you sign on the screen of the phone, so visa wont don't want anything to do with it unless the customer confirms on there phone and details.

shame really.. there is a few out there that provide you with a chip and pin machine that connects directly to your phone via blue tooth and into the app software and carries the payment. pay yours.co.uk is one of these

mick are you just using a standard mobile card terminal.

or are you using the mobile chip and pin reader than connects to your mobile phone running an app? .. this is approved bvy visa and takes payments like any other machine.
Dave.
