This thread reminds me of those links to other forums where folk are discussing window cleaners, and they all say:

"Wow he charges £20? what a cheeky sod!"

"That's way over the odds.  I only pay £1.50. what a rip off"

And we all go mad because we want a decent wage for the work we do.  Now we are doing the same to web designers!

My dad's mate got a top-class web design company to do his website for him and it cost in the region of £5,000.  Nothing wrong with that at all, it looks really superb and you have to pay if you want excellent design.

Just like us, there are web designers at the top end and the lower end, and yes its true a window cleaning business may not need the same high-level web design as other businesses, its not right to criticise a top-class company for charging accordingly.

Just IMO
Thats fair enough.  Check this out though and let me know how much you think it cost me.

£300, plus £30 a month to maintain and do regular SEO work!  Not bad eh?

Steve - its a nice site on most screens,.. but it looks real strange on a full hd screen, all stretched out!

It needs a fixed maximum width in the css framework,..

Very interesting.  Was it a TV or an HD monitor?  Thanks for the heads up, I had no idea.  I will get my webmaster on the case!  Cheers!

I've a full HD screen on my laptop - Dead handy for spotting bits like this,.. and since screens all seem to be going HD at the moment its best to be ahead of the curve!

Only for e-commerce sites (With the jigoshop pluggin).
I don't like it though,.. I prefer plain html & js for normal sites because its just easier to control & you're not trapped in the wordpress framework.
