Is £200 enough for the 2nd van with running costs and wages..?
I thought it would have to be higher than this for you to take a profit.?

Graham
if your need higher than that to make a profit your pay to much in wages or something is seriously worng, there is clear profit in them figues even if it was a new van with inoics thermo installed on the knock
£200 is no where near enough to run a van, with two employee's and make
a worth while  profit. Try £350- £400 ;)
I did in fact mean one person in a van, I didnt read he wanted two per van
Are you saying you need 16k a month to pay for two staff and 2 vans? I'm not sure what you are saying.

My mistake ::) i took it from first post two men per van.
I cant understand why anyone would have two men, two vans, doing domestic work
commercial maybe, why have the running costs of two vans, when one could
do the work. only my opinion but is £350-£400 not an average wage for one van two
employees?

If you want to expand and grow, then you have to go backwards to go forwards.
Reach a level, maintain it, re-adjust, build, grow and repeat and repeat and repeat :)

whats so complicated??? i have two vans i have 483 customers at min down from over 1000 last year, im keeping it quite simple aiming for £200 a day each van which should have us both finished by 3 most days so its not physically exhausting.it averages out about 13-15 jobs a day each. im taking my friend on on a self employed basis as he does other types of work, we plan to push other services and try and max out both van eventually until im ready to invest in another van

whats your average customer price m8

richy, after 2 years i am going round for the first time putting the prices up.  about 1/4 through them now and i find it pretty nerve racking.  anyway, why the hell would you wait another year? your customers will think youre stupid.  5 years is far too long to wait to put your prices up.  in order to match the average increase in inflation you need to increase by 10% every 3 years.  the longer you go on, the less your £10 job is worth

I put half up last year and doing other half at moment. This half are some early mispriced work so some up a fiver and no losses so far.

i just wana get things running sweet again and make sure works getting cleaned correctly and debts arent being messed up just improve the service basically so it warrants a price rise coz the last year has been detrimental to our customer service
