Don't worry about speed.  As with all things this will come with experience.  As said previously even if you do only 2 an hour your still earning decent money.

Always put quality over speed.  You do this and you should never be short of customers.

rosskesave he asking is he slow. If he wanted your daft opinion he would of put only MUGS may reply. If your doing a house 3 minutes then according to your figures your working 3 hours a day or do u spend the other 5 or so hours looking in the mirror at how amazing you are becos i would if i was as brilliant as you.

MUPPET.

replying to your question it takes me 15mins 15 mins to clean an average 3 bed house trad.

During todays work I had two 3 bedroom semi's. One was largish and one was smaller both with fairly easy access. I decided to do them trad instead of wfp and time myself.

From pulling up to driving away and going flat out, one took 48 minutes and the other 43 minutes.

Before going over to mainly wfp, I was window cleaning trad style for nearly 10 years. Perhaps the 3 bedroom houses down here are different to other areas as you take 15 minutes.

How about making a video in real time to prove it?

That's around how long it takes me, including frames and doors.

If priced right, it's still good money. I have always preferred quality over quantity. Often leads to new work through word of mouth recommendations and people seeing you take the time to do a thorough job.

I still believe plenty of people on here, as in the past, can't tell the time.

10 minutes, in my opinion is just exageration.

If anyone can do it in 10 minutes, fair play to them. I just know that I can't.

25 min in my opinion is a good time for trad.
I am wfp and it takes 25 min some of the semis (i know I am slow :)  )
thought some I can do in 10-15 min if rushed and still do a good job, but thats wfp. would take me twice that time to do trad.

who ever says they do it in 10 min trad - would like to see that.
maybe if worked on a timer to prove it, but to do it day to day - come on get real.

25 minutes... am I very slow and give the 2 doors a rub down.

What point are you trying to make?

Not trying to make a point, was just hoping for a bit of advice, if i was using Wfp   as usual i would prob be about 10mins, I charge about £8/9 for these so happy enough with money at moment,

rosskesava as you have difficulty understanding the meaning of my posts i will make the next bit very clear

Just a quick question, It takes me a about 25mins to trad  an average 7 window  and give the 2 doors a rub on an average semi, how quickly is the norm for one man, am i very slow,

Well IMO, a basic three bed semi should not take any longer than 20 minutes and can be done in 15.  This includes the odd bits of frames where there is dirt and wiping the sills.  Some will even go a bit quicker - some slower.  I think the important bit is pricing it according to your needs.  If you're hitting £30 an hour on the glass, I imagine you are thereabouts - though this can vary by region.  Obviously WFP is faster on most jobs but the cost of working WFP is higher too.
Regards,
Kermit  ;D

You asked an open ended question like 'how long is a bit of string, is mine too long'?

Was your question is speed and time taken all that matters? You didn't mention price or profit or anything else. You didn't even define a '3 bedroom semi' or what size windows, etc, etc.

'Giving the doors a rub down'? That could mean 5 seconds or 5 minutes.

Do you clean the frames or not?

Or was it not a question at all but a statement of willy waving about how quick?

So not being able to mind read, I asked what is the point you are making as I didn't understand the actual meaning of your question simply because you didn't define one.

So, I'll give an answer to your question that I guarantee is 100% accurate. Is 25 minutes very slow?

Answer = yes and no.

And, 'how quick for an average semi detached house'?

Answer = somewhere between zero seconds and an unknown length of time.

rosskesaca are you saying u clean a house wfp in three minutes properly and yet it takes 48 minutes to clean the same house trad.. .... so wfp does the same job roughly 16 times faster. i thought u were a muppet on your first post but now i can just giggle at you.

That's hardly worth replying to but.....

Obviously, and I must stress 'obviously', the three minutes was in part a joke and in part sarcasm and was not meant as a real time, wfp or not.

As you must be well aware, or not, lots of forum members get into a thing of quoting a faster speed when window cleaning and some of the times given are just cloud cuckoo land. I was simply, or stupidly, just making a bit of a joke mixed with a bit of sarcasm depending of how the person reads it.

Also, what type of psychological boost do you get from name calling?

Yeah right whatever ,   Most other's seem to know what i was asking, and i didnt require a 100% accurate answer.

To all others i was thinking that 25mins was a bit slow  but even if i could just get 5mins of per house i would probaly be happy enough as long as my quality didnt suffer. ive really only been cleaning trad for a couple of weeks as the vast majority of my work is wfp. im prob being a little to fussy any tips would be appreciated,

Thanks

I'm not worried about whether the majority know what you're asking or what answers the majority give. It's the 'how long is a bit of string' question again. And with regards the answer, lot of porkie pies get told on this forum.

How can anyone give an accurate answer without an accurate question? How do you know what the advice they give is worth a hoot without any detail?

I could have said yes, 25 minutes is too slow but how would that help you? I could have said that is a good time but again, how would that help you decide?

Maybe post a picture of the house in question or the type of house you mean.
