clx22 is my every day pole and is nice to use. I will try an slx soon but am happy with clx. Use Gardiner's soft sill brush on end and works well.

One tip - when bolts on clamps start to need daily adjusting put 2 wraps of ptfe tape on the bolts. Having to adjust clamps several times a day gets tiresome.

Yeah I've had a clx-22 for about 6 months and it seems a great,cheap pole.The clamps loosening does get on your nerves a bit,especially the first clamp on the pole which governs the angle of the brush.When that loosens while your brush is on the glass the stock of the brush can whack against the glass where the brush gives way.Not the best impression to a custie on the other side of the glass.The only other thing I've found,literally just in the last week is that the first section will stick sometimes and need great force and twisting to extend.It's been warm here over the last week so I suppose it's some kind of expansion but a bit annoying.Minor niggles that,by far the best pole I've had.

Used my CLX-22 for a few weeks now and really can't fault it. Can't see how the SLX could be any better but as many of you say it is I'll take your word for it - must be awesome! Best things are it's closed length - it fits inside a single cab pickup and is very easy to wield. Brilliant!

The slight section sticking will be the effect of worn or damaged joint-stop tape in the first section. This is easily replaced and is really worth doing as it will transform the use of the section to as new again.

To replace the joint stop tape on this section (or any others in the future) please follow the instructions below:

To replace you will need some PVC insulating/electrical tape.

1. Undo lever assembly on the clamp and remove - pull out the section completely - shown here on YouTube - http://youtu.be/VeXQaNUb8-4. This may be slightly difficult to do if the joint-stop tape is mangled up a bit.
2. Remove all of the old tape then clean and dry the lower 20cm of the section.
3. At 130mm up from the base of the section wrap the insulating tape around the section - do this one complete wrap around and about another quarter of a wrap, then cut the tape and neatly press down.
4. Using a small Allen key (or similar) prise the two clamp jaws apart and slide the section back in - You will need to be very careful as you slide the tape past the jaws of the clamp - as shown on the above video (second half).
5. Slide the section fully back in and re-assemble the lever assembly.
 
You will have completely replaced the joint-stop by doing this. You will find as the pole ages that this may become needed on other sections.


With regard to the top clamp, I usually keep this clamp adjusted much tighter as I rarely need to undo it and it best to have the gooseneck held very firmly.
