Quote from: Pure HYDRO Cleaners on March 11, 2012, 06:09:28 pmI did look at the combo, they do a lpg version are they any goodhad a combo dual fuel and was a load of crap, couldnt pull its own weight let alone when loaded, had to gun it everywhere just to get it to move, averaged low 20's mpg loaded up and high 20's emptyThanks for the reply. At the moment I am paying £100 a week in diesel, with the rising cost of fuel this is going to have an inpact on a business.I also have to take insurance into the equasion, at the moment the insurance companys are increasing their premiems above the rate of inflation and getting away with it.Looking ahead for vechicles which cost less to run and do the job, is good business sense.for what your asking for you need at least 1000kg payload, get a transit or vivaro and just pay the diesel bill
Trouble is, an employee will thrash the pants off whatever vehicle he's given, doubt he's concerned about driving economically. Can't win really, you need the power to match the load which equates to higher fuel costs. I would look to employ very small skinny people only or use lighter water.Fuel savings from one brand of van to another will be minimal per week, maybe not even the cost of one house clean.
