Although the safety aspect is a big issue it isn't big enough in the eyes of the majority to promote the change

I reckon for me the strongest desire for wanting to change was the fact that ladder work is knackering

And thus with wfp i can consistently hit targets without the same fatigue

I enjoy trad work though and get to do alot of it on shops and easy houses , i still do it where it makes no sense changing over , ie where there are loads of gates to climb and houses where access is an issue for vehicles etc

Ps theres LOADS  of trad cleaners round where i work but wfp is quickly becoming just as numerous

Now it just makes me smile. Ladderwork keeps me fit, maintenance is virtually nil, and moreover I am happy with the way my business is progressing, so if anyone looks down on me, it doesn't bother me.

I think there is a view on this forum that tends to dominate which is that wfp does a better job in every circumstance and that if someone cleans windows trad style, then there is something wrong with them. As proved by the posting above:

The bloke who that comment was aimed for says he's happy cleaning trad style so if he's happy doing it that way why make a comment which is a disguised put down? How many threads about trad become 'wfp is better and anyone who cleans trad is an idiot and will fall off their ladder and die' threads?

There's also this thing about cleaning 500 houses a day and earning £1000's a day and all that. Most of which is clearly BS. Some are genuine but sometimes.........

Combine it all together and is it any wonder that trad cleaners don't post much or don't bother with the forum?

I've always been in favour of two separate sections for wfp and trad.

i do trad i  prefer it but earn more wfp enough said

i do wfp on some shops and later in the day i will go back to do the insides and sometimes i will trad the outsides cause im disappointed in some of the windows that i cleaned with wfp. i know some will say you not cleaning them right with wfp but believe me i give them a good clean ... some other  window cleaners say i spend to much time and water on them. i just like them to be clean  so generally i think you get better results trad although i agree that they dont stay clean as long but thats good for wc i guess

Wfp can't do insides and better to shop fronts trad.


At the end of the day we are window cleaners and to be a safe and professional company you select the correct equiptment to do the right job, so be it if it's a squeegee, ladder or Wfp,

There'll be plenty of 'new' trad cleaners if the water companies get their way!!  Veteran WFP cleaners suddenly having to use a squeegee - then you die hard trad blokes will have the last laugh!!

if you cant trad your not a window cleaner.   if your going wfp from the start learn to trad before you do. ive seen it here many many times people saying ive been asked to do the insides of a shop pub ect but ive never used a blade & app before
