Getting people to sign a contract to a service they may not be happy with is just making life harder for yourself, keep it relaxed and do a good job and they will stay....

Why would you be getting someone to sign a contract for something they are not happy with, a contract is a 2 way thing I think you may have missed this point, it protect both people  ;)

it helps retention rate  ;), I go for quality not quantity, I learn from mistakes and fail fast if i'm going to fail.

Sorry not being funny as i am genuinely interested but that was a politicians answer, does it affect your sign up rate? And do people still cancel despite signing the contract?

We get people to sign a lead sheet agreeing to a minimum of three cleans to be honest tho we haven't been strict with it as we canvassed a lot of council we just jibbed them off coz we cudnt be bothered with messers

The man asked for a " contract that goes out to all new customers " he did not ask for a lesson in what will or will not work. AS always the negative bunch at work. Some will not post because of all the negative input.Come guys to get real, ??? ???

I have one but cant email it until I'm back at work which is Tuesday

Been using it for about 3 years and it's a must. You do get some people trying to wriggle out but it's minimal. Most are scared into believing they must have 3 cleans carried out. Works well.

You want to scare customers? How does that build customer relationships? I swear we would all be out of business if customers ever read this forum....

Lol, yeah I like to scare my customers.

Maybe the wrong choice of words. What I was saying is that would it stand up in a court of law? I'm not sure but most believe it to be official so it works well. You can dress up as much as you want about being straight and honest with customers blah blah but I'm long in tge tooth and have dealt with around 3000 of them over the last 5 years and a percentage will. Lie, cheat, not pay, try and get stuff for nothing etc. So by having provisions in place you will less likely have issues.

I have heard every story under the sun and even when you've dealt with someone for a longtime they could still try and shaft you at some point.

Been there, done it, bought the t-shirt

My point is if you get someone to sign a lead sheet i am pretty sure it wouldnt stand up in court, or more to the point would you really take someone to court for 20 quid? Can see your logic but in my experience the good ones will be the good ones whether or not you sign a contract. I personally think its too strong on the door, i have knocked on alot and i think it would scare potentially good customers off....
