Yep, some of it is utter crap - just leaves coils everywhere and it's not cheap either! Or Gardiners.

Some of the new pole hose is lethal when doing shop work, all pole hose should lie flat like it used to.

yep you turn round for 2 seconds and there are coils of hose on the floor looking like a barbed wire fence for someone to trip over
WE CLEAN BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT WITH WATER FED POLE WHEN WORKING AT HEIGHT.

had a game with it today had to get the wife standing on the end while i stretched it to it full length. might tape it up with insulation tape to strenghten it a bit.

Keep your private life to yourself please!   ;D

I have the same problem with all 4 poles we use. I am thinking of trying the 'soft' hose. Anybody using it?

Bought a 30 mtr reel of the soft one , when I bought my slx, first impressions were that it was very flimsy, my normal hose developed a leak today , so replaced with the new soft one , until I could get some normal delivered, and I must say it is great for cold weather use, very little memory,  i use it with an squad apter - no probs, will use as my winter pole hose from now on, and use stiffer hose in the summer.

Tried Aquadapter - might hang myself with it later.

Some hoses are great for the summer and crap in winter.

Absolutely awful hose.

In warm weather, it's supple enough, a bit too supole though as it pops out of push fit taps, so you have to buy a barbed insert and o ring clamp to ensure a secure fit.

Works fine when warm, if an expensive solution.

In the cold however, we have had 3 barbed inserts snap, leaving a part in the tap, rendering the £10 tap unusable!!! So lose a tap, a barbed fitting, an o ring, and time for equipment repairs.

Not too mention the tangles when its cold, stopping the poles from extending.

Another perfect example of equipment being sold as suitable, when it simply is not.

Absolutely fed up with it.

Hi concept,

you have to buy a barbed insert and o ring clamp to ensure a secure fit.

...we have had 3 barbed inserts snap, leaving a part in the tap
An alternative to the barbed insert is a tube strengthener that fits inside the end of the hose to prevent the hose coming out of a push-fit connector.

After having a lot of feedback on our hose, and reading about the Gardiner hose with interest, it seems personal preference and expectation of how people want the hose to behave varies greatly.

Gardiners have a range of hoses and I seem to remember reading that they worked to develop the latest hose in response to feedback/demand.

Our priority is to have a low-stretch, durable hose, as this is important for the operation of the Aqua-dapter, but Using PU hose does have some other benefits over PVC though as it is more consistent in hot or cold weather/water.

The vast majority of feedback we get about our hose is positive (published on our blog), but there are also some who really dislike it!

So far we have had yellow, translucent red and opaque orange.  We have been trying to improve with each one, but the comments we hear indicate that we will never be able to please everyone with one type of hose as people value different properties of each, and manage their hose differently.  For example, some like it to coil itself up at the end of the job, others find this too annoying as it means the hose is more likely to tangle.

Yes the soft is much better, i have it on my SLX and the stiffer yellow hose on my Super max, that can be a bit challenging.

Aquadapter

What about the trip hazard for the public.

surely this should be a priority above and beyond anything else ?

What do you think ?
