Double page spread in the Mail today saying what a disaster it has been for many businesses.
God must love stupid people---He made so many.

It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b017l4x5/Jeremy_Vine_Jeremy_discusses_inciting_hatred./

This is the link on I player

Interesting is the part where resturaunt owner expected 200 peops to turn up and he had 700...much to his loss.

Others may differ, but to me it opens the world of price shoppers who don't come back.

In my experience, these are the people with the most difficult jobs and want to pay next to nothing.

Then...2 years later you get a call....well last time you came, you cleaned my trashed through room for 30 quid ::)

I didn't hear it but the trouble with programmes like this is that it doesn't put off the 'shoppers' who continue to act like sharks after cheap deals.
On the plus side it will hopefully put off more businesses getting involved in this scheme, which if the gods are kind will drive groupon and its likes to to the wall.
Enterprise got plenty of negative prime time  publicity on TV some months back but they are still functioning in just the same way all because 'shoppers' believe in the £8.99 a room scam.

It's the way of the world at present and it's not going to change for some years, therefore cheap will sell.

The media particularly T V ARE MAKING THINGS A LOT WORSE with Dom Littlewood  type programmes , where you are encouraged to " negotiate and NEVER pay full price for anything "

Anyone see the girl on from an oven cleaning company on breakfast tv BBC1 this morning.

See did groupon and seemed genuine enough in that she serviced the jobs to high standards BUT

she was on complaining that very few people took an upsell after groupon promised she be making her money from the upsell.

Unbelieveable.  I was nearly throwing my toast at the TV.

And she did groupon twice.

they did a piece on it this morning on bbc breakfast tv show, they had the lady who was on jeremy vine yesterday saying it was not good for her and they also had some female business expert/advisor who stated quite clearly that this is not the way forward for businesses that want repeat custom as groupon / voucher customers are always going to be looking for a cheap deal and are never likely to want to pay the full price for whatever service they want.

If she cleans ovens I'm not sure where the upsells are, unless someone can enlighten me?
