Tell you what, get a quote for an 8Kg parcel that's 2m long and 30cm across.  Then add on the cost of a few metres of bubble wrap and packing tape (all of which I'll be buying).  Then tell me the charges are out of kilter. Actually, I'll save you the time.  Parcelforce, £52.99 plus VAT.  Bubble wrap £8, Packing tape £1.  Total £72.59.

You'll also note that I'm allowing pickup (and positively encouraging people to do so), so it's got nothing to do with a reserve.  Plus a reserve of £50 would be pointless on something that's six months old and several hundred pounds new.  Plus, listing fees of a couple of quid are hardly going to deter me.

Really, the quality of posts in this place is becoming pathetic.

So in another thread ( http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=142882.0 ), Smudger was invited to justify his claim that £50 delivery was unreasonable. He appears to have neglected the fact that postage on a 2m long package might not fit in the eye-catching "from" delivery price quoted on a website.

Unfortunately, he's now locked the thread (that he started titled as something of a complaint about locked threads).

So, he's managed irony and idiocy at the same time.  Well done that man!



So, now the P&P has been explained, back to any sensible questions about the sale.

You've even deleted the post on the other thread where you claimed you'd been proved right and that the postage was out of order.  I was about to quote it and prove you to be a plank.  Yeah, prices "start from £8.99" is a terrific argument given you're the one clearly claiming I'm trying to rip people off.

As I've never ripped anyone off in my life, I take things like that seriously, hence my continuing to point out that you were just plain inaccurate.

Ah well, life goes on and yet another numpty on here fails to admit he might just be wrong.
