« on: November 28, 2011, 06:56:12 pm »
Hi Vin - rather touchy arn't we ?

just for your info - parcel 2 go will send your poles on signed for next day sevice for £8.99 + VAT or a before
12 service for £13.99 + vat

you are sending ali poles - you dont need loads of bubble wrap - just a bit to cover the ends or pop into a carpet shop
and get a carboard tube ( they are only too happy to give them away ) and send the bends seperate approx £5.00 on royal mail.

very best regards

I was going to lock the original thread as a single post, but I (wrongly) assumed that no-one would be interested in stirring things up.

Tripe like this by people like you on a wind up (you're obviously not looking to buy the poles; you're just sticking your kneb in) is all this forum's good for these days and is why I post so much less...

Since you're so interested in what I'm doing, find an actual quote for an 8Kg, 200cm x 30cm x 30cm package, insured for, say, £200.  Don't quote the "from" price on a website, get me a real quote.

And no, I'm not traipsing around carpet shops for their cast-offs.  If I waste 20 minutes doing that I'll have to add £20 to the P&P and you'll have a cerebral haemorrhage.

Oh dear - get out of the wrong side of the bed ?

i merely stated that the postage was high and as per opening thread i have proved my case,

it's sad some one like you has to resort to the sort of posts as above - as you usually have something
decent to say.

BTW - i was very interested in the poles but i'm not about to make an offer of £400 and THEN be caught for that
sort of postage cost.

No you haven't proved your case.

Show us a quote for the goods as packed and I'll accept your point (and, more to the point, will amend the listing).  However, the cheapest I have managed from parcel2go for a parcel with the dimensions and weight I have mentioned is £37.03 plus £9.00 insurance, so £46.03.  Hardly makes £50 "Having a giraffe" does it?

If you're just going to quote a website's "from" pricing for a parcel 2m long, you're living in a dream world.  Most of the services offered there won't even accept a parcel with those dimensions.

Sorry to keep banging on about the size of the parcel but hopefully you'll get the point that they are more than a little relevant to how much you pay for something to be delivered.

Show us a quote

Vin

Oh, by the way, if you bid £400, the insurance will be £21, not £9 taking the total cost price of my £50 rip off postage to £58.03; don't want to mislead about my costs in case you bid.

Franky indeed - nick picking or trying to get a better deal on a sale - depends on your point of view.
