lol i didnt mean this post to be so loooong !

Hi nick,

i hope this doesn't come across as negative or anything its just i see so many people exited and i noticed that you will be offering a guarantee on your services.
i have vast experience of canvassed work and plenty of experiences with canvassers good and bad so i just want to share whats on my mind with you and other fellow windys.

basically i would be carefull what you say about guarantees. what happens if your window cleaner is hit with a 50% canceltion rate?, which by the way does happen more often these days depending with the way the work is canvassed the area, the frequencies whats more is you could be working for a window cleaner who is hard to please therefore deliberately backing the customers up and only cherry picking the hot ones,

i feel the days of guaranteed canvassing to this level is really a thing of the past before the recession in general stick rates where alot higher and these days people notice a regular expenses alot quicker and some just do not want it regular but will say anything to get that first clean.

it might be working for you,but you could get stung if i were you i would rethink this guarantee carry on because if you do say a 2k campaign then get hit with a £900 cancellation what will you do,? rework it for free then find out another short fall putting both you and window cleaner in a hole?, what's the next step that most canvassers do (not saying you are like this) is turn phone off and ignore and we all know who a few names kicking about this forum already ,end of the day thou i think if those rip off canvassers told the truth that there is no guarantee beyond a 10-15% cancellation that would be reasonable but then again they wouldn't really have got the work so easily end of the day living costs is high imagine having to walk the streets again and again for free to top up a hard stick rate area or window cleaner you cant please? it cant be done.window cleaner will think you should do it as you said you will and you will think those customers were sweet why are they cancelling money back?and so on and so on.

and the reason why the window cleaners go for canvassing is because its packaged up very well with this guarantee offer, dont get me wrong i hope to hear a new success story from one of the lads that takes you on,

personally i would consider charging your window cleaner less and offering little or no guarantee that way you both know where you stand cos its all just one big numbers game you could do 10 campaigns with a 90% stick rate but then you could do another campaign with 90% pop rate

you see by offering a guarantee your true pay is based upon that 2nd clean
not your first so thats something to think about.

oh by the way ive had work canvassed very badly , to very good canvassed work
and along with taking instructions from your window cleaner and pitching correctly ie, will your window cleaner notify or not, wfp or ladders its just a numbers game amazingly the stick rate after say 1 year is very similar so the window cleaner will be left with work pretty much what ever happens the question will be did it work out how you both wanted!

Good luck,

Bushboy

Good post crystal clear ,

Just paid out for a load of canvassing

Cancellation rate running at around 50 % prior to first clean , & drop outs there after . But the work is compact

contacting custys  was harder than Doing the first cleans lol ,

Going to get the canvassers to book a time date on next batch , ringing custys
Up after is a pain in the ass , also having to clarify everything with them .

Next time , time date , & the custys sig to say ok to do , & explain access issues .

As I took some serious abuse from custys when I left a message on there phones
& turned up & cleaned , as couldn't hold of them ,

Then all started , I didn't authorise u on my property etc , Didn't get message ,
Didnt agree this or that ,

Live & learn lol , if u want a good round lol , u got sweat some blood & tears ,

Need to be a lot clearer next about what they do & what I need to do ,

Any positive posts on where I went wrong greatly received ,
 ;D
