I was tempted to think this was a joke of some sort but it actually looks serious.

And very nice some of them are too.

Why, oh why were you not around when I was Regional manager for London?!!

I've employed about 20 Polish this year and every single one has turned out very bad for us. Never, ever again.
( come to think of it, ONE was OK, but 1/20 is awful). What makes this worse is that they have all come to us via our local Catholic Church. Think long and hard before going down this route, I wish I had. Nice as pie to your face, but running you down to your clients behind your back and trying to steal the work. Trouble makers, untrustworthy, militant know-alls.

I agree with Gary, my partner's firm took on a load of Polish workers. They had only been with the company a few weeks and all at the same time started to demand the same pay as the (British) workers who had been there for years, and who had had to work their way up the pay scale!! Needless to say it didn't work, but they did cause a few ripples!!

They caused more than ripples with me and my 'local' staff, tsunamis more like. Lots of companies around here took on Eastern Europeans, us included, at first we couldn't believe our luck after years of staffing problems, it didn't take long before the rot set in though!! I know of many firms who have had very similar experiences to us and they also have stopped employing this type of labour. Still counting the cost, and will be for a long time. If anyone wants to know more then I'll email you.

Yes, you are right. Sometimes they are real pain in the "back".
I know it, because I'm Polish myself.

But if you treat them with proper proportions of carrot and stick they are really good, especially those girls from our website.

And one more: only take those fresh from Poland, not 5 years seasoned London residents.

Most of mine were 'new' in, with ages rangeing from 20-55 both male and female. I don't think there are any "5 year seasoned" Pole's, they've only been around since last May.

I see your cleaners are all self employed, does that mean they all have there own insurances etc? Can you really offer this service from £5.05p per hour legally, if so let me know because I'd like to know how you can make a profit paying so little, especially as they are self employed and paying there own tax.

I interviwed one girl from Poland she lasted one day, I told her traning pay will be £5 PER HR and when she was trained up I would pay her £6.50 ph. she just did not turn up on the second day, next thing I got a call from job centre and told me this girl had worked a week and wants a weeks pay at £6.50 ph and if I did not pay they would take things further! I told them my side and have not heard any thing else. so that was my first and last time with a poll. only in this country goverment bodies will side with refugees etc when hard working people like us get the shi**y end of the stick all the time. I am sick of it. if these pepole can't work and pay there way ship em out quick.
and to Mr polish guy please pass this on we are fair honest people and we expect the same. but if you cross us you can expect the same back with interest!!! welcome to Britain.

Well, i have to say that i use 3 Polish girls from Blue Arrow quite regularly, and i think i have said this before, but they work flippin hard for me, especially as building sites are not the best of places to work on. They work harder than some of my girls!! Unfortunately i can't say "why can't you work hard like those Polish girls?"......Not the done thing. I will have to encourage them over time to be better.

Our sister company deals with around 10 - 15 Polish loaders / warehousemen etc and have had problems with only  Polish chap.....who was useless. Been using them from Blue Arrow too for the past 4 months permanently. So no bad feedback from them.

Its a shame that some from Poland mess it up for others. But statistically.....how many English cleaners do we go through who act like those Ploish mantioned in the Posts above mine?? I bet a lot of us have employed a lot of useless English cleaners in the past?? Interesting.

Kind Regards

I personally think the key to employing good, reliable and hard working cleaners is to employ ONLY those who actually LOVE cleaning and not those who want the job cos its easy (in respect of actually finding a cleaning job not working at a cleaning job). The only disadvantage to that is they are few and far between!

Hi all,

I had am e-mail from Garyj about his experiances, B****dy hell everyone, don't bother.

I know it doesn't sound the right thing to say but I would rather contract the work out or even refuse it, just to have the peace if mind that you ain't gonna be ripped off.

My advice is, to keep your reputation good, don't bother!!!!

Come on people......in defence of any of those from another country (which i am not!!) Most of you have said on this post that they have had nothing but bad news from the Polish and the like. Did you personally interview them? How many people do you interview from Britain and are usless, let you down, and tarnish your reputation? According to a lot of other posts on this forum.....it seems to happen quite a lot - if you do a search.

As i have said earlier, i have used polish cleaners and i have not had any problems with their work or their attitude to the work - and we work on builders sites!!

I felt that i had to say something constructive and sensible, because as funny as your remarks have been.....and yes, i did find them funny.....i felt i had to stick up for them.....So i have.

Regards to you all out there

hi Guys,

I currently have two polish ladies working for me part time. So far so good. They are both hard working. Mind you they have only worked for me for 2.5 months.

Just to back them up they are reliable and I have found with one of them that I can ring up at short notice and she will always work.

IMO people are people - it doesn't matter what race, creed, colour, religion etc they are you get some good and some bad.  Gary obviously got a run of terrible ones!

Sometimes you will find that when groups of people are together they influence one another so if the 'bad' persons personality is dominant then the others tend to follow, but again this can happen in any group of any nationality.

What I will say is that the Polish web site looks more like they are selling sex than cleaners!
