the best all round pole I have ever used

And its the clx 22!

All things considered,

price
weight
closed length
handle diameter
reach
clamps
stiffness

I truly believe this is the best all round pole for domestic use on the market today.

Lee, can you list the other poles you've used, so that we know what you're comparing it to?

If you take the price out of the factors you gave listed, it doesn't even compare to the slx.

They are good poles if you are on a budget, but even for domestics, it is worth spending the extra to get the slx

I've an SLX and it's a lovely light pole; really rigid; nice short close length for ground floor work, but I've also got a Jeff Brimble Ninja pole which looks interesting, has short lengths and is really really light; and has no clamps - which is a bonus, because I don't like clamps.  But I think it takes a bit of practise to use it; which I will invest once I've caught up with my work.  I think with practise the Ninja could be a really quick, light, inexpensive pole.

But if we're to include price as a factor, the Harris pole is by far the best, IMO.  At £15 and 3 easy sections with simple twist grips to adjust height, it's great.  I still keep my Harris in the van, alongside my DIY Fishing poles pole, SLX and CLX. ;D

Also, longevity is a major issue. Some people have been using SLX's for over 3 years. CLX's are new on the scene so are unproven in comparison. If they are half the price of an SLX but only last half as long then quite obviously the SLX is the one.

i thought the clx was the best pole until i got the 25FT SLX!!i still think they are great for the money but i had to swap poles for a few awkward jobs which wasted time.also i was straining my arms/shoulders more with the clx and found it harder to get to the awkward windows compared to the slx.

in fact weighing up the less strain and not having to waste time swapping poles its worth spending the extra on a 25ft SLX.

so for me the best all around  pole for the money is the 25FT SLX.no need for another pole for domestics and small/medium commercial.it reaches everything.

for once i would have to agree with dazmond kind of, however i have a slx18 and slx30 i do a few jobs where a slx25 wouldnt reach to

worth spending a bit more and get a slx instead of a clx, gonna get a slx extreme next though

all very good points.

I also think the kind of business you have is a factor. I employ people and dont do much labour myself. so I wouldnt put an slx in the hands of my staff to be abused. my guys use the clx 18 and 27's. I got the 22 for myself, but as i dont do much i didnt see the advantage of spending more.

If I did a full time round I wouldnt care about the cost I would have the lightest possible pole and brush in my hand.

To answer you tosh, I have been wfp for just over 6 years and I can say that I have owned or tried nearly everything in the world of wfp.

For usability the SL-X is unbeatable,... for value for money the CL-X is unbeatable.

I personally use a CL-X 27 for 99% of my work and think its by far the best everyday pole I've ever owned,... and its one I wouldn't worry about giving to employees either.

One thing that makes the CL-X stand out for me is the shorter closed length when compared to similar sized SL-X poles,... its not a huge difference, but every bit helps.
