Turning up to clean, regardless.
« on: March 31, 2011, 02:10:30 pm »
I sent my chap out to clean the reception areas and a few staircases for a well known hotel chain. They had not contacted us or requested work, we just did it. ;D

The manager approached my cleaner to find out what was happening, my guy told him he was cleaning the carpets. "Fair enough" said the manager as he walked passed.
We invoiced head office and the cheque came this morning (1 month later). ;D ;D

I would not recommend this method though.

I just wanted to prove to myself how bad communications are with large companies.

Nice one  ;D

And here I am on the other end of the scale this morning, booked job (by the wife), turn up - no answer.
Got 2 mobile numbers, 1st one is one digit short.
Second one just going to voicemail   >:(

Think I'll try Matt's idea   ;D

Took a booking on Monday to clean a 3 piece at 12pm today.

Got to house no answer, looked through window and saw leather suite (Idont do leather)

Walked round the back to see if any answer at the back and saw a filthy 3 piece suite covered in crap and wet through from the rain in the garden.I tried to call the customer but got no reply so sent a text asking if he is taking the pee expecting me to clean that.

No reply as yet.

A wasted afternoon were I could have been doing jobs I'd put back 'til next week.

You live and learn.

I've just laughed so much about that.
It doesn't always work though because 99 times out a 100 if the invoice doesn't match up with a works request number then questions get asked.
I've had South West Trains play up on us because some muppet couldn't find the works request number even though it was a monthly maint programme, and we'd been doing it for years.

It was for their training centre/classrooms so LM system was used.
Wouldn't want to do the actual trains thankyou.
