Remote controls
« on: March 15, 2011, 09:46:28 am »
I've a new batch of remote controls available if any one is interested. They are two channel models which allow two things to be controlled from one keyfob. The keyfob is the best I've come across yet - it's a good solid splashproof model with well spaced buttons allowing easy use if you're wearing gloves.

Price is £22 inc registered P&P to a UK address.

Any questions please ask.

Stated range is 100m but that's on a playing field like surface with no obstructions. I've tested them to work reliably at a range of 30m with a house consisting of 6 feet of solid stone walls, three feet of brick walls and a conservatory in between the remote fob and the remote switch. This means there should be no issues in every day working.

What frequency do they operate on. Have some socket controllers but remote is stuffed.

Cheers

Pity need 433mhz, are there control units available, or what would you use it for?

Not quite sure what you mean by control units. These remote switches allow you to wire up a pump which can then be turned on/ off remotely using the supplied keyfob. Does that help?

Ah, crossed purposes! These are what I mean but the remote is faulty. http://www.safield.co.uk/radiplug-3x-remote-control-mains-plug-socketsswitches-p-436.html How would one wire it up and could it be used on the vacs? Would get confusing having two remotes (3 vacs + pump) but would be very handy when i'm 3 flights up ;D
