My canvasser starts in 2 weeks.

He gets paid £10 per hour and then £2 bonus on every customer he signs up. He will be working 6-8pm mon-fri.

Im adding him to my payroll and paying him in cash with receipt

He will be fully briefed on what pricing i expect and will do the pricing himself.

I have a set price for certain properties and for other buildings like garages/conservatories so i will place my trust in him to price accordingly

The lad who helps me work from time to time im setting up as a canvasser,
Im gonna get him to price new cleans at a minimum of 50 % more than the regular price, and pay him 100 % of first clean of each job.

So if he brings in £50 , he should be on £75 .00 etc

I pay my lad the monthly value of what he gets. I also get the leafleting done for free that way on houses that aren't in.

the best way is commision it gives them an incentive, you start throwing £10 per hour at them and they dont have the incentive to be pushed.

100% of clean is proberly better but what happens if they have one clean.......your working for free

maybe 50 % of clean and 50 after 4th clean?

Its a fair comment, they might be one offs. but if they are they would priced quite high, so maybe split them 50/50 most jobs will be long term though

I'd definately agree. £10 an hour is all good. £2 per sale... in two hours your lucky to get 3-5 so that extra £6-10 is not really much.

I was thinking along the lines of 50% of first clean, that way we'd still be getting 50% of first clean and not working for free.

i pay commission only and pay 70% on the first clean. Any thing they get is just extra at the end of the day and doesn't bother me paying 70%.Also if they get me to many im going to offer them a job in window cleaning. So every ones a winner.

Your not working for free though are you? you are working to pay for your canvassers wages, so whetheryou pay them out ofyour pocket or from your new cleans the end result is the same

I dont mind cleaning a few properties and handing over the money for decent regular work that wll make me ££££ s the month after, the  year after etc

I have paid 2x cleans to canvasser and have had some good work.at the moment I've been doing my own canvassing and picking up very good close work.all good prices in the areas I want.
Canvasser's are good if you know what work you want and  want to save a.few quid you are better doing it yourself.
Takings off all first cleans till march 7th 2014
October  total=  cleaned  extra per month
November = cleaned extra per month
Total £  so far.

That's not very much m8.
I pay 200 % of first clean but if I was to take one or 2 working for me I would pay them about 8 to 10 for every clean I get at they price correctly.minimum price 8 quid.more for bigger.

I pay my canvasser 1x for 8 weekly work and 1.2x for 4 weekly work, he doesnt like to stop till hes got at least £100 of work but occassinaly comes under this but on average I get between £80 and £140 of new work each day he canvasses. I then pay him when he hands the job sheets over too me which is at the end of each canvassing day,Hes got the same business cards as me (with his name and number on, as well as mine) so if a customer needs too speak too there partner or changes there mind they can go direct too him or myself, weve built up a good relationship so I like too pay well as wouldnt want him too jack it in..

Hes due here in a hour with my new work  ;D
