Ronnie, you must know who you work for on a regular basis.

Call round each one and be honest with them and then ask them to send you via e-mail the last invoice you sent them.

That way you will then have their e-mail address again for future use and also the amount you normally invoice them for and also the date of last invoice with hopefully the date that the last invoiced clean was carried out. Then you should be able to invoice them for unbilled work and any work in the future.

It isnt ideal and probably wont work for all your clients but its a start.

Im sure if youre honest with them about whats happened they'll all be very willing to help you out.

Hi Ronnie
Some decent suggestions above.

Did you never back up to disc or email?

The wcpro guys will help you i'm sure.To use wcpro on another machine you need to down load from the website, find the number it gives you and let them know so they can validate the licence.

If you are going to use this as an opportunity to upgrade kit get an apple. The mac air is out of this world, but you would need a program such as parrallels to run windows which you need for wcpro.

I'm guessing that you previously had george. How long ago and where is that data?

You will have downloadable bank statements of payments.

You may have to consider starting from scratch. That is just trying to remember customers as you drive around (as suggested having a device such as a macbook air handy) and hoping, but not really knowing that debts get paid.

Can i suggest to save constantly repeating yourself to customers you get a note- Mr Gold you are good at this type of thing- to explain the situation.

May i also suggest, when you speak to ian and brad, that in addition to back ups on sticks and emails in the future you buy another licence for another machine.(this is what i have)

i use george and keep work lists for a few months before shredding, i also use an internet backup and a hard drive backup.

also emailing a backup file either to yourself or someone else like a family member might help

i know its too late for that for you, but for the future and for the other guys to have at least one method of backup.

ronnie can you not look at your previous invoices surely this will help identify most of your work
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt
