Peter I like to keep an open mind, so can you explain why you think hot water cleans quicker for regular work, I’m guessing it uses less water because you think it is quicker.
One of the chaps I mentioned reckoned the water was sheeting more than beading on certain glass, and also ran off the window more effectively. I can understand the water coming off the glass better as water looses its ability to hold itself together as it heats up, so running off the glass better. I am not sure but think of the extremities ice and steam. And it is common knowledge that you are more likely to see a spot on the window when a bead of water dries in as opposed to a window that sheets.
I did do a lot of experimenting with detergents in the summer particularly non ionic surfactants, and would be interested in what detergents you are successfully using. I have came across some interesting findings, but had to put it on hold to get the hot system up and running, but hope to get back to it soon.
