I use muck boot and this year they have kept me warm, dry and they are very light...I used to be a Gortex is best type of bloke but Muck boots are just great...I cannot praise them enough....one of my best buys to date.

and I have to import them from the UK....so they cost me extra in shipping too...

I too wear muck boots (brand of wellie) and they are the best thing i ever bought, very warm, extremely comfy and 100% waterproof, wore them almost daily since buying a couple of months back. 60 odd quid mind.

If it wasn't for your wellies where would you be
You'd be in the hospital or infirmary
'Cause you would have a dose of the flu or even pleurisy
If you didn't have your feet in your wellies

Oh wellies they are wonderful, oh wellies they are swell
'Cause they keep out the water and they keep in the smell
And when you're sitting in a room you can always tell
When some bugger takes off his wellies

Don`t forget to roll the tops over if you get some. And paint L and R on them.

I will look them up. Are they as warm as Goretex? I have Goretex army boots I bought brand new from ebay 18 months ago and they are great. Only £35 as well!

Sorry Lee, I never answred your original question.........

I have cheap wellies £10 ish from local fishing shop. They are ok for occasional muddy play with the kids but I wouldnt wantto wear them for work. For a start they are not snug enough and certainly not very flexible.
The muck boots look good and would consider hunter boots.

Been wearing my wellies today, no ladder work, 1 to 2 ft of snow about. Old pair of army socks on too  ;D Was happy. Only did a couple of hours though.

I wear wellies to work.

They lack in warmth (thermal socks needed).

They also lack in ankle support (wouldn't attempt a ladder in 'em)

They are perfect for keeping your feet warm though.

Hunters are very good & very expensive.

If Carlsberg made wellies they would be called Skeetex : because they are probably the best boots in the world, the moonboots are worn by people that work in temps below -50 and there feet are still warm, i use the Skeetex field boots for work fishing and now...... even going shopping in :o
A bad days fishing is better than a good days work !

Recently bought a pair of AIGLE PARCOURS ISO NEOPRENE wellies, they are the business, went out for a 6 mile walk with the dog in the snow yesterday, tootsies stayed warm as toast all the way round  :)

I've tried Le Chameau and Hunter wellies but they're not a patch on Aigles.
