For christ's sake can we all stop dancing around the issue please??!!!
Paul is referring to cleantalk, which is sponsored by Solution Cornwall, I think most of us know that. And the rules on cleantalk are that you can't blatantly promote other suppliers products and equipment. Obviously if a supplier sponsors a forum they have the right to stop people advertising their competition in their own back yard!
There's nothing wrong with "discussing" other products and machines, even the admins and moderators such as John and me still mention other products etc. And contrary to popular belief and vicious rumours (mentioning no names, you know who you are

) only a handful of people have ever been banned and that's because they broke rules and didn't seem to want to act any differently.
The sponsors of this forum don't seem all that interested in enforcing such a strict policy, although I have seen advertising attempts removed so the same thing is being done here. I think the only difference is that the owner of this forum keeps his head down and is nowhere near as publicly available for snipers to take pot shots at him

And I don't think Paul was being "slaughtered" over it, just the rules had to be clarified... and more importantly justified and explained!! You can't argue with the reasons for the rules.
