Had a problem with petrol last year (not work) but this caused problems with both my Motorcycle and Lawnmower so the cause seemed obvious.
Managed to sort the lawnmower by stripping down etc but had to have the bike in to shop. Ended up costing best part of £200 and they confirmed the fuel was the issue.
I wrote a letter of complaint to Total, they eventually replied saying after a thorough investigation (checked for other complaints and looked at there test data from the date the fuel was drawn) they considered their fuel was fine and thus not the cause of the problem.
Now, if I hadn't fueled both the bike and lawnmower up from the same jerry can then I'd have thought fair enough, but the fact they both had problems almost immediately after using the fuel was all I needed to convince me. I just wonder how many car owners get this problem but just assume it's a problem with their car.
Needless to say that I wouldn't touch Total's fuel ever again.
