Don't worry I have saved it for u

You know what they say about free advice…….

Funny thing with CIU is take a look at some of the newbie’s post Form B, experts the lot of them, LOL.

It amounts to they made more money in a shorter day window cleaning than they could with a regular job and now there industry experts.

Tell me have you cobbled together your business?

Test them Form B offer a genuine nugget of advice and see how many heads it goes over, and then see who picks up on it and asked a inquisitive question.

The great thing about ewan is that you can quote him- and put almost any words in his mouth without fear of contradiction because he deletes his posts and often can't remember them.A few classics then.

Think of customers as milking a herd of cows.Although doing so by hand is satisfying, having ten or more hooked up to a sucking machine is definitely the way to go.

If a topic is the allure of CIU, and the peculiar obsession the window cleaning section spawns how does advising to post other topics address this? We talk rubbish about running gardiners or dave morriss biz, while you lot run man you or chelsea, what's the real difference?

Anyone else remember any?

;) Cheers mod

I agree that sometimes when trying to genuinely help it can be thrown back in your face, but I have been guilty of this in the past also.

It is the nature of forums.

I still can't see the point in deleting posts. If you don't want people read your post, don't write it.

I think golds got a cheek starting this.If it had been started about me i would have hit back, but you seem to have been happy to let it run.

Gold loads the gun, points it, then lets someone else fire it.

why bother posting then boys? Like someone else said on a previous post, a lot come on here that work on their own and see this forum as a place to chat about work with work mates. If you've ever worked with a group of people most of the chat, most of the time is banter. Lighten up and you might find yourself enjoying being on here rather than skulking in the shadows with a big pouty lip out.

You are correct in 'why bother posting boys' (except I am not a boy). In the main I don't. The reason for me posting this is I have a vague hope that the mods might change how the forum is moderated.

There's nothing wrong chatting with mates but there's a part of the forum for that so why not chat there? And I'm not against banter in totality, I'm against the type of banter that is drivel. It is dull, boring and uninteresting unless you are in the clicky little circle.

Also, I was unaware that you have a secret insight into my world or anybody elses who doesn't agree with you. I didn't know I was pouting in the corner and skulking in the shadows. As for 'lighten up'? You are missing the point of what I posted which also seems to happen frequently.

Maybe start a new thread tittled 'reasons to lighten up while using this forum'.

Delete posts or not? most have a good enough memory.

Ewan is a complete fool, without doubt, contradicts himself constantly. Personally, I like him but only to p**s myself laughing at! ;) What he perceives as "secret agent intelligence" most accept as common sense! ::)

Who cares ??? He was rumbled ages ago! ;D ;D

Thats what I miss from my days in employment, no matter how much grief we were getting for not selling enough, difficult customers, not following procedure etc, etc, there was always a collegue to take the pressure off with a natter or bit of a p1ss take. I know a bit about pouting and skulking on here , I've done a bit myself and maybe it can seem clicky, I'm not sure if it is or just seems that way if you're not a regular poster - I've yet to work that one out!  :)

I don't want to fall out with ewan, and if it seems that i've been picking on him i apologise. My comments were mean't to be humourous, and pointed out that if deletion is a constant then you could be quoted as saying anything.

It's wrong to get too personal, and i accept that.

I think Ewan is an attention seeker who obviously knows nothing about window cleaning. Probably late 20's or early 30's and lives at home with mummy and has a secret world in his bedroom wherein he's powerfull mystic when in front of a pc. My opinion, he's a nobody but on this forum, he can be secret Ewan the much talked about supreme master.

There used to be someone on this forum ages ago called Graham and I'm struck by their similarities.

Me, I've turned into a grumpy old git and proud of it. Never had time for pouting or sulking though. To busy whinging.

There's a few negative posts about the forum here; personally I don't think it's changed much and I was one of this sites early members.  I even moderated for a bit.  The moderator I took over from tried his best to keep any banter out of the forum - this post wouldn't have been allowed; no way.  And I suspect his blood pressure increased by about ten points towards the heart failure stage at one point, trying to control all the postings; I wasn't his favourite member!  ;D

But most forums are all the same; someone asks a question, the first three-or-four replies are on-topic, and then it goes off-topic.  It's a bit like how a real-life conversation goes.

Probably the best advice I could give is - rather than criticise other members of the forum and their posts - why not try to improve the forum with your own posts?

And to answer the original question, I know I spend too much time on the off-topic part of the forum; but I don't like my 'thinking' sometimes, and using this forum distracts me from spending too much time with myself.   ;D

I suspect many other people do the same as myself.

Yes it is, actually; apologies.   :-[

I will now perform - by way of a punishment - 100 burpees with a star jump whilst shouting, "I must learn not to be a hypocrite, I must learn not to be a hypocrite, I must learn... (etc)".

Dead in a gutter? I'm a jock by birth not a Geordie.  For a jock the gutter is a temporary place to live and, unlike Geordies after a bottle of Skol de la Mersey, not a permanent one. ;D

Thanks for the thought and still window cleaning and still doing more than ok.

ps Have you owned up to being a Geordie on this forum recently? If not, then keep it quiet.
