tech clean vacs 32A?

Take a vacuum's power and divide by the voltage to get the current handling capability you need.  So, a 3000W vac on 110V draws 27 amps.  The same thing on 240v would draw 12.5 amps.

how would that work genny being 16 a?

The generator will be rated by power, not current.  You need the power output to be enough for the vacuum.  It should have both 16A and 32A outlets if it's producing more than about 1,800 watts.  For any half decent vacuum at 110v, you'll need a generator with more than that.

It has a Honda GX270 engine.

It was £450 on fleabay.  One didn't sell at a buy it now price of £350 in Newport in Wales and one for £300 in Sutton also failed to sell.  There are a few about at pretty reasonable prices, but you do need to be sure you're getting a good 'un.  I liked my seller, so I was prepared to pay a little more as it was still a bargain.

Glad to hear your first job on your house went quickly, gonna need to sail through these jobs to make the equipment pay for itself

My house is probably around the £75 mark, so hopefully it won't take too long.

All the time; kept banging it back into shape.  I can see the benefit, but it's also damned fiddly.

That's what I thought. I wanted to try it but the stuff we had for air blast in the print trade would easily change shape and got quite floppy with use. I use the u bend with clamps on my vac but although rigid it takes a few minutes of spanner work to alter the angles.

I have a gutter vac working off a Honda Gen and the Gen vibrates so much it actually moves around quite a bit. So much so, when on the ground and running, I have to bungee it to the van! If I kept the Gen in the van when working it would shake it to peices.

On Sunday, you were only thinking of going for a Loncin (which I assume this is).  Are you now saying you have one, or are you still looking at what to buy?

In that case, if you've already got a 110V vac and it's above 1,800 watts, you have a problem.  If it's 240v, then you haven't.

If it's 110V, you might want to talk to an electrician about solutions.  From the spec you're quoting it looks like the generator can output what you need for 110v, but the sockets may not be up to the job.  A decent electrician should be able to sort you out.  You're at the limits of my knowledge now so you need expert help.  Can the people who sold you the generator help?

Hi Vin.

I've got a question for you as I know you've got the same Tech Clean 110v Vac as I have. I'm almost ready to get started now I've got the Vac the transformer and I've made up 100M of 110v extension cable 34a 4mm Arctic grade into 4 x 25M lengths. Should be collecting the poles from an Ebay seller on Monday 40ft of aluminum poles plus the plastic gutter tools, the Aluminium one I'll have to source elsewhere.

I switched the Vac on last night for the first time using all three motors, I was a little surprised as I was expecting a little more power? how are you finding this, when you did your house how many motors were you running and are you happy the Vac's got enough power to cope with a heavily blocked gutter?

I'm looking at finding a suitable spike now for loosening compacted debris, have you given this any thought and will you be buying a spike to use with your set up?

Cheers
Simon

Put it this way; I kept the nozzle away from the cats in case I lost one.

Hi Simon, You should be able to do most of your gutter cleans using only 2 motors, It's not that often I will have to use the 3rd motor but it's good to know it's there if you need it. I would recommend getting the aluminium gutter nozzle from omnivac, at fourty odd quid it's pricey but it's a bloody good tool. It get's right in the down pipes and can be used to break up any dried mud/debris in the gutter. Only good for gutters where the roof tiles don't overhang too much!  ::)
