just got my new gutter vac!
« on: November 16, 2010, 12:10:02 pm »
My new vac just arrived.

Its the 240v from tech clean and I must say im very impressed. the build quality is fantastic, especialy the metal trolly. the power is imense! we had the omni vac which has now died and I do believe this unit is more powerfull and better made than the omni vac we had.

It only comes with 2.5 meters of suction hose so off to B&Q now for a 10 meter length, if you have the ally tubes from omni pole you will need to ask for a rubber reducer for the hose to fit the pole.

Jan at tech clean is great to deal with. the price was only £380.00 including vat and delivery! A bargain if you ask me. cant wait to get cleaning with it.

My 110v arrived the other day as well - just awaiting cables and connectors to try it out.  I'll post more as I get to have a play.

Great stuff Lee. As well as photos can you put up a link for the unit you bought so we can see the spec? Also, you said it is well priced. How does it compare pricewise to the equivalent from Omnivac?
I'm looking into buying one so would be interested to hear?
Oh, If I do buy one I will tell them you recommended me to them.

Cheers mate

sorry no pics yet, just google tech-clean and go to their products page, the list price is more than I paid so just ask jan for a discount.

B&Q didnt have the hose I neede but I got it elsewhere. you can ask jan to include a 10m hose and a reducer in the kit.

then you will need the ally tubes, clamps and end fitmentments to go in the gutter from omni pole (i have 3 different types) also a 5KVA generator and 50 meter heavy duty electricle reel, then your ready to go!

I have booked nearly £10,000 worth of gutter clearing jobs from my existing customer base in the last 3 weeks alone, to be done from the start of dec through to march, a bit of work on the phone goes a long way!!!!!  ;D

Mine's the 110v one from Tech clean.  It's a little smaller and a tad more expensive, but less likely to kill me.

I'll review it once I have everything here.

just the vac mate, already had everything else from the previous kit. trust me its a bargain for the build quality and power! I would estimate the entire kit to be £1500 and worth every penny!

Simon,

Don't be tempted to scrimp on the generator.  I've been researching this and the cheap Chinese ones that are over the web like a rash are distinctly substandard and seem to last a few mnths before giving up the ghost.

most commercial customers will only let you use 110v also if you use 110v and a gennie the customer doesnt have to be in also everything is self contained imo
