Stretching Excercises Anyone?
« on: November 13, 2010, 11:17:31 pm »
Hi All

Do any of you have an excercise regime where you stretch or general excercise - thinking i should be doing this kinda stuff coz the times  i ache or over stretch muscles and feel it longer than i really should.

When I remember, I have a good stretch of my back, and warm up my shoulders.

I always have a stretch during the day, my customers must think I am a freak when I am clicking my neck and back! Even if it's just a mental thing for me, I feel the benefits when I do stretch myself out.

I suffer from a bad back anyway, so frequently I need to pop/crack it out just to free it up a bit. If it gets bad, I will visit my physio, who can free up every tight joint I have. Well worth the £30 I pay.

Dont forget your legs, they get a fair strain on them too from "setting" yourself throughout the course of the day when you are counteracting the movements of your pole.

I am sure there will be loads of responses along the lines of "poof", "softy" etc, but, I want my body to last me my stay, and if I can make my working day easier, I am happy. Invest in your body by investing in lighter equipment...

I try to remember to do calf stretching exercises on a daily basis as ive found my legs tighten up more now im not using a ladder. I see a sports physio once a fortnight who works on my back, legs, neck, ankles etc. I pay £33 an hour for her which is cheap, shes an ex custy and also the person im doing a sponsored cycle ride with next year.

I find a bit of yoga very good at preventing problems and can help deal with any existing aches.

I do shoulder and back exercises every day and ride a bike three times a week. Used to go to the gym four or five times a week but no energy for that after wfp all day. The only days I really feel it is the odd commercial blocks where I literally don't stop for hours. Next day, I am fit for nothing  :(

Hi Mark,

I've always done stretching before and after work.

I just got in the habit of doing it, from my days when doing karate.

Keeps you fairly in good shape.

Regards.
