ive now been cleaning windows for around 11 years , im happy with what i earn , ive got a really good customer relationship .
im now going to undercut ANY newbie who trys to steal the work i do by %50
ive had 1 of my customers quoted £2 today .
lets see how long they last .
LET BATTLE COMMECE  ;D
Are you sure you're not missing something out here? Non of your customers have gone over to these cheaper quotes but you're willing to undercut them anyway? How are you going to find time to take on this new cheaper work or any new cheaper work? I'd imagine after 11 years your round is pretty full.

LETS see if i can explain this a bit better .

IVE got a really good round but after 11 years i should have .

IM not worried about losing work .

BUT  theres ONE thing i cant do with and thats UNDERCUTTERS  .

AT LEAST  put a decent price in £2.50 on a 3 bed semi 12 windows and 2 doors .

IF  these people want to UNDERCUT at least put in a good price .

BE competative when putting in a price .

I dont mind losing a call but AT LEAST make sure its BECAUSE a better service is OFFERED not a cheaper PRICE .

PRICES  will AND  do vary from area to area but £2.50 come on get a grip you UNDERCUTTERS .

where theres muck theres money

Any loyal customers will likely see through those whose prices are so unrealistically low. If a discerning custy gets a quote for, say £2.50 on a £10 house, what sort of job would she expect for that price? And how long would the other guy stay in business when he would have to work 4 times as hard as you just to make the same money?

I really wouldn't worry about it at all if I were you. Why not just concentrate on doing what you do, do it well and keep your customers happy.

I have come across guys canvassing for work, and always try to encourage them, and wish them success in their venture. We all have to make a living, and having a relaxed as opposed to uptight attitude about this will enable you to focus on keeping your business successful, rather than worrying about what others may be doing. Try it, you will be just fine.

Being diplomatic is being able to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.

Just a thought but you might be wasting your time and efforts.

If you want to put them out of business tell them your reporting them to the taxman or dole office if you think they are working illegal. If they carry on undercutting then id look at offering extra services but if your customers wont stay loyal i wouldnt go to the trouble of trying to keep them

Good luck with whatever you choose to do
