ive now been cleaning windows for around 11 years , im happy with what i earn , ive got a really good customer relationship .
im now going to undercut ANY newbie who trys to steal the work i do by %50
ive had 1 of my customers quoted £2 today .
lets see how long they last .

i wouldnt undercut a brickie .

its what i call looking after what ive built up without someone jumping in between and thinking they can do MY job for cheaper its taken me a long time to get to where i want to be and i aint going to have it spoilt , undercut my work then i undercut yours simple as .

sorry if ive been mis understood my customers are after nearly 11 years really happy with my service .
NOT 1 would cancel but theres loads now trying to undercut , these undercutters have not picked 1 of my customers up but when they are going in with a £2 for the full house they COULD ruin what as taken me years to build .
if i now see these on any  house im going to undercut them by %50 as they tryed with me .

is this a recent thing or been happenign for a while - if for a while have you found custies eventually return? are these really albe to do the good cleaning job you do when only charging 2 quid? understand fully the effort it take to build round as im doing it now

Emphasise this to your customers rather than cut your prices.

come on!none of us has lost many customers to undercutters if we been going for years!im 17 years in this game and not lost ONE customer to an undercutter(not knowingly!).

if your good at your job,regular,reliable and not overcharging you wont lose any amount of work thatll really affect your business.

stop worrying and concentrate on being the best you can in your area

Mate i dont know about working for a quid

i would talk to all your customers explain things to them that you are insured self employed etc. and he is just a cowboy.

You must remember if you start working for a quid the word might spread and before you know it that one house you are cleaning for a £1 tells next door and so on.

it could turn out to a nightmare mate .

just move on he will get sick of working for such a silly price wait till the winter kicks in lol

This does not make any sense!

You say you are sick of undercutters trying to ruin your business by working for 2 quid, so you will work for 1.

so effectivly you are undercuting both them and yourself, working for less than it cost to do the job and ruining your reputation.

I dont think you need worry about the odd chancer destroying your business mate, it sounds like you will do a much better job yourself.

i have heard about a bloke pricing way low,once he has cleaned it twice ,jacks the price back  up and has a good speal and the custy agrees becos dont want to be without a cleaner . thats prob what this new guy is doing ,  has by then found out what you were originally charging

If you have as good a customer relationship as you say, they will stay with you and take no notice of others trying to undercut you. Why should you worry if your customers don't.

This has got to be the dumbist idea ever,you ain't lost a custy why bother?they won't b around long at them prices ,I understand how you feel but as u say not lost 1 custy!!!!

mugs game carving up undercutters. why lower yourself to thier level. if your customers are loyal they will stay. if you lose some to what are obviously dole scroungers (must be at that price), let them go who need custies like that. the shops trade is like that round here people offering 3 months cleaning if you switch to them, the prices charged are patheticly low
