I will be selling customers that have.

come to us of their own accord

decided on the frequency they want

been priced up and agreed to it

have understood info on wfp, gutter vac, jet washing and so on

have understood they will be getting a cleaner that covers their local area

they will be sold for 1-1.5x a clean value, after that its up to the cleaner to make of them what they will.
I think it is a great idea Lee,

and I will provide the same for anyone thats interested should I get any customers in different areas for last 3/4 years I have given them away for free.

im not going to do more than that though, so Lee im not interested in being competition to you.

I have a job in Luton Gutter cleaning if anyones interested already priced £100 for the cleaner.

Sorry to hijack lee

Well surely it is an either/or situation Ian?  If you charge someone for a page on your website (albeit at a very reasonable rate) would it then be alright to charge them on top if the customer inquiry in an advertiser's area is incorrectly made to you instead of the advertiser (as has happened occasionally)?
Not having a go but just pointing out that you may need to think about how you would go about this in order to continue to do things ethically (as you have always done in the past).

Lee, I admire anyone who tries to bring a resolution to anything.

But your not actually saying what your doing, so the plan is speculative - nobody can make an informed choice/decision.  Once its in the bag and up and running you would be better talking about it.  Titbits dont help, but I wish you luck and hope everything works out.

it worked very well for gardiner poles when they did the same thing although that was for a product and not a service. I remember when orange did the same thing when they first started for months on end you got some daft advert of an orange square and not actually what it was or who they were i think sometimes doing little titbits gets people wanting to know more and builds up speculation however i'm no expert but it keeps people interested untill launch day .

Its just not on the same scale, Orange is a household name.  Yep Lees got you all talking, great, but what are you all talking about?  Nobody knows.  Orange had the budget to do national advertising.

Once again I wish Lee luck, and hope it all works out.

no my point was these little titbits do keep everyone guessing and speculating which the way i see it help, orange are a home name now but when they first started there adverts nobody new what was being advertised or who they were on a bigger scale yes but the principle is the same.
not that i'm trying to argue to be honest i couldn't care less what it is but wish him all the luck.. :)

Kate is clearly a clear thinker, I am creating interest with the view that when I launch and disclose the lot people will be ready and waiting to learn what its all about, and its all a bit of fun in the mean time

heres a tit bit for you, it will star off in surrey and sussex!!!

So a £300 guttervac job would cost me up to £450? As a lot of guttervac jobs are one offs, it wouldn't be worth my while doing it for £150.

Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick ???

A good question and yes I have an answer to that, which of course I cant say right now, but I will say that your asumption is wrong and you would be well in the money.

Ok. Fair enough

Project x info

1. if you door knock you might get some customers, although i believe one that comes to you is stronger than one hunted by door knocking, plus its your time doing it, whats that worth to you.

2. if you spend thousands a year on leafleting like I do at the moment you might get some customers.

3. if you advertise on yell, in the paper, local business book, and so on, you might get some customers for the money you spent

4. if you pay a small fortune to a canvassing company you you might get some well priced strong customers, or you might get mucked around.

YOU MIGHT GET SOME CUSTOMERS!!

sure all of these methods do work, i know ive done them, but they all have down sides dont they.

imagine that EVERY pound you spent got you a well priced strong customer and that it didnt cost you anything close to 3x a clean value. that concept is the foundation of what im trying to do.

just so you know ive spent £8000 this year on leafleting, did every pound get me a customer? hell no!

hey in the end its a new thing and may or may not work i really dont know at this time. If it doesnt work i would rather have tried and failed than not tried at all and would have only been my money wasted.

keep you eyes peeled over the next week as stage 1 will unfold soon.

Do you mean if I spent £1 I would get 1 customer and if i spent £100 I would recieve 100 customers?
Cause that would be good return.

ewan getting closer to the mark now lol!!! all i can say is you see that as a problem and every problem has a solution.

Stuart return on your invesmeant depends on alot of things, take the one I sold yesterday for £18 at 6 weekly, over 1 year that customer will spend £155.00 and they may spend more if they have something extra like gutters cleared at lets say £70 so thats £225 minus the £18 it cost the window cleaner to obtain that customer, I think thats a pretty good return.

Since when did you explain in simple terms what acacia. does?

Lee is to charge 1.1 for solid /ish work- if his notion takes flight.Thats pretty direct and clear.
